CITY STORIES Thursday 1 May & Friday 2 May £15 / £17.50 Returning by popular demand, City Stories is a new type of cabaret drama, a sequence of interwoven love stories and a love letter to London. Written and directed by award winning playwright James Phillips and with original music composed by singer-songwriter Rosabella Gregory, City Stories is a magical journey through a magical city. “Rosabella Gregory’s lyrics seem almost to give London itself a voice.. Raw, informal and quietly profound. This surprising evening of London stories for our times, linked through musical interludes, addresses the big questions of life.” One Stop Arts These first two shows are part of an expanding residency at St. James Studio from the City Stories Company. The performances will feature special guest singers. Long term City Stories company members who will feature during the residency include Gary Kemp, Sally Dexter, Scott Handy, Louisa Clein, Karina Fernandez, Daphne Alexander and Sarah Quintrell.

Now Julie returns to the St. James Studio direct from originating the title role in Thérèse Raquin, the new musical by Craig Adams and Nona Shepphard based on the classic Emile Zola novel. Sam recently returned from Broadway, playing Queen Elizabeth and Viola in the all male casts of Richard III & Twelfth Night. He has been nominated for Evening Standard, Tony and Olivier Awards, won two Whatsonstage awards & a Drama Desk award. Please note: Due to the nature of employing working actors, the workshop leaders may be subject to change at any time. We will always replace them with someone of equal ability and you will be offered the opportunity to transfer to an alternative workshop if space allows.

During Wilde Week, we present you with a 45 minute condensed version of this most celebrated of plays, and three new productions which dramatically recount Wilde’s swift and painful fall from grace, and subsequent imprisonment.
