After-School Pick-Up 2021-2022 School Year
Blessings SJA families, We hope your student(s) had a wonderful and memorable first day of school. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces eager to be back amongst friends and classmates. SJA wanted to send a brief letter regarding after-school pickup and would like to thank you for your flexibility and patience during that time. Having 400 families converge on campus in small window of time can certainly create a stressful and hectic situation. Rest assured, normally after-school pickup does not take as long as it did today. Beginning on Monday, close to 25% of our students will be remaining on campus after school for sports and activities, so we expect much shorter lines. To help the after school pick-up be more efficient, please note the following: •
At 2:45pm, the school gates close and will not open until 5 minutes before the bell rings. All cars are asked to follow the same route as morning drop-off and a line through campus will form. For the safety of students and other drivers TURNAROUNDS ARE NOT ALLOWED and please DO NOT PARK IN ANY PARKING SPACES on campus.

Once you have your place in line, please call or text your student(s) to let them know where you are so they can meet you.

Historically, the longest lines and waits occur in the first 15-20 minutes of dismissal. If your schedule allows you to come later to pick up your child, that is recommended.

12n dismissals usually take the longest as all 400+ students are leaving campus right after school.
On occasion, you may notice a car being let through the front gate before it opens or a school official allowing a car to turn around into the Admin parking lot during pickup. Those are individuals that have school business to attend to and are not there to pick up their student(s). Thank you for your cooperation and patience during these busy first days of school.
