Brooke’s Place for Grieving Young People began at St. Luke’s, 25 years ago with their first ongoing support group and that partnership continues today with added therapy services, Camp Healing Tree, BP8 and community education offerings to their list of services. They serve ages 3-29, with a mission to empower children, teens and young adults and their families to thrive in the midst of grief. Brooke’s Place featured artists represent all ages. They have worked together to create meaningful, grief-related pieces that they hope you enjoy all month long. Brooke’s Place is also sharing some of their archive pieces that are special to them. WIND PHONE DEDICATION

TODAY - AT 1PM - NE

PARKING LOT BY LABRYINTH

St. Luke’s has been a partner with Brooke’s Place since its inception twenty-five years ago. Brooke’s Place is named after Brooke Wright, who as a child, lost her father unexpectedly. The creation of Brooke’s Place began as a place for children to grieve. In honor of the 25th anniversary, a wind phone has been installed by the Labyrinth. The wind phone is place where a person can “dial the number of their loved one and share whatever they want in a private space”. For more information about Brooke’s Place visit brookesplace.org

ALL-IN FOR KIDS AND STUDENTS

THIS SUMMER!

This summer, we’re hosting hundreds of kids—some regulars, some new faces. We hold the power to shape their futures, but we need YOU. It’s an all-hands-on-deck moment. We refuse to turn kids away from VBS. Every middle schooler at Mayhem deserves a mentor. Every child at Freedom School should feel our embrace. But to make this happen, we need more volunteers. It’s on us. Let’s be all-in, together! Register now at stlukesumc.com/ allin24

IMPACT OUR COMMUNITY

INDY PRIDE

JUNE 8, 2024 - PARADE AND

FESTIVAL!

Each year St. Luke’s is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community by walking in the Indy Pride parade and hosting a booth at the Indy Pride festival. Last year we had over 80 people join our group for the parade. It was a colorful, fun day downtown Indy. This is just one way St. Luke’s lives out its mission to be an open, inclusive church helping people find and give hope through Jesus Christ. Let us know you plan on walking with us or working our booth at the festival. Register at stlukesumc.com/pride.

FREEDOM SCHOOL

JUNE 17 - JULY 26

Join us this summer and volunteer for the CDF Freedom School program at St. Luke’s, running from June 17 to July 26! Help us empower young scholars through high-quality literacy, family involvement, civic engagement, leadership development, and health education. Whether you can commit to 5 days or more as an IRC classroom assistant, help with afternoon activities, volunteer for Wednesday evening events, or assist with hospitality and kitchen duties, we have a role for you. Can’t volunteer in person? Consider a financial gift to support our efforts. For more info and to volunteer visit stlukesumc.com/ freedomschool
