As a creative artist, Katie Weston enjoys finding unique ways to make meaningful art. Her favorite mediums are Watercolor, Oil, and Ink. She uses old-fashioned Date-Stamps to create one-of-akind pieces that represent a memorable moment in time, such as a couple’s anniversary, birthday, or another significant date.

RITCHEY WOODS NATURE PRESERVE - AUGUST 11

Join us for a leisurely walk through a local park sharing appreciation of God’s beautiful creation and gratitude to those who keep our parks available to everyone. Time for quiet contemplation or conversation with others from St Luke’s. This group will walk at different parks on the second Sundays of the month from June to October. On August 11 at 2PM, Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, Hague Rd. parking area, meet at trailhead.

GRIEFSHARE

NEXT SESSION STARTS JULY 31

It may be difficult for you to feel optimistic about the future after the loss of a loved one. You may have found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt that you feel. It can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. Join us for the next series of GriefShare classes to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. This group meets weekly starting July 31st at 3:15 or 6:15PM in the Community Room at the North Indy Campus. Register online at stlukesumc.com/care

SABBATICAL CELEBRATION!

AUGUST 11 STARTING AT 5PM - NORTH INDY

Join us to celebrate Pastor Rob’s sabbatical journey! There will be a time when Pastor Rob will share his adventures! Dinner is included in ticket and children activities will include things like a bounce house, and kids activity tent. AUGUST 18 - AFTER ALL SERVICES - BOTH CAMPUSES

If you’re new or newer to St. Luke’s join us immediately after service for Starting Point, a 30-minute orientation to St. Luke’s. You’ll meet others who are new and leave with next steps to help you find your place here. This is a great way to become familiar with who we are and how we live out our faith.

INFORMATION SESSION AUGUST 18 AT 9:30AM

Attention all students in grades 7 and above! If you haven’t yet been Confirmed, join the 2024-2025 Confirmation Class starting this September. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your faith over 8 Sunday sessions, running from 9:30 AM to noon at the North Indy Campus. Each session starts with worship, followed by interactive learning until noon. You’ll also have a mentor to guide you between sessions, helping you connect with the material on a deeper level. The experience concludes with a retreat and a Confirmation Service in April. Don’t miss this chance to explore your faith. Attend the optional info session on August 18th to learn more. AUGUST 24 FROM 9AM-12PM - NORTH INDY PARKING LOT

Do you have a vehicle-loving kid? If the answer is yes: we have plan for you on Saturday August 24! Bring your whole family to Truck Town at St. Luke’s UMC North Campus parking lot, where kids will be invited to explore inside and out all kinds of trucks and vehicles. The event will be from 9 -12, with a quiet hour from 9-10AM for our friends with sensory needs. This is a free eventbut we ask that you pre-register at stlukesumc.com/trucktown

DIVORCE CARE

SESSION BEGINS SEPTEMBER 9

While divorce is always hard, many are facing additional obstacles that make this season of life even more difficult. St. Luke’s wants you to know that you are not alone. We welcome you to our DivorceCare class meeting on Monday evenings starting September 9, 2024. The class runs for a total of 13 weeks.

WEEKEND OF AUGUST 16-18

Church is better when we know each other! At St. Luke’s Midtown, we’re making it easy to get to know the people you worship with on Sundays through our Know Your Neighbor Dinners. Happening the weekend of August 16-18, meals will be hosted all over Indy in homes and restaurants. You’ll pick which meal you’d like to attend, and your host will let you know what to bring. CONDOLENCES

To Marianne McGriff on the death of her husband, Carver McGriff, who passed away on July 20th. Visitation will be held on August 2nd from 5:00-7:00pm in Robertson Chapel at St. Luke’s. The memorial service will be held on August 3rd at 11am in the Santuary at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
