With a sound sitting somewhere between the southern drawl of Little Feat and the classic London blues of The Rolling Stones, Jawbone create a unique blend from both sides of the pond that’s entirely their own. With its two frontmen sharing lead vocal duties and big harmonies from the band, Jawbone have created a sound that’s greater than the sum of its parts. Having worked with many artists (Tom Jones, Van Morrison, Robben Ford, Ginger Baker, Dave Gilmore, Jack Bruce, Ronnie Wood), they are striking out on their own.

Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage Date: Sunday 21 October, 8.45pm Tickets: £12 in advance, £14 on the door Huddled round a microphone, singing intimate duets with just mountain dulcimer, dobro and guitar, Hannah Sanders and Ben Savage are a folk duo who look and sound classically timeless, yet feel refreshingly unique. Their material is as joyful and fun as it is intense, but the common factor is the duo’s warmth and confidence in each other; their natural ease and connection is clearly evident on their recorded music and a genuine pleasure to witness on stage. hannahbenmusic.com Luke Daniels & Nancy Kerr

This new duo show promises to be a stunning mix of contemporary folk music and inspired instrumental virtuosity. Since Luke Daniel’s landmark solo statement What’s Here What’s Gone in 2014, he’s put down several more markers on the musical map. Revolve and Rotate had him transporting the 19th century’s closest thing to hi-fi, the giant steel discs of the polyphon, to modern transcription. Nancy Kerr is one of the most celebrated folk musicians of her generation and has won six Folk Awards from BBC Radio 2. lukedanielsmusic.com nancykerr.co.uk Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage

CC Smugglers are on a rapid rise that has elicited plaudits from critics and audiences alike, boasting Seasick Steve, Bob Harris and Cerys Matthews amongst their legion of fans. Listen to them and you’ll hear the ghosts of American folk music, swing, jazz, country, ragtime and bluegrass. Listen more closely and you’ll hear contemporary touchstones such as hip hop, metal, dubstep, house and dancehall. Nothing is off limits! ccsmugglers.co.uk

It’s just over a decade since Newton Faulkner released his debut album and, to his own astonishment, became a household name. Rather than mark the 10 years by performing the double-platinum selling Hand Built By Robots to crowds across the world, he has recharged his batteries and released an astonishing sixth album Hit The Ground Running (2017) that is by far the best and boldest of his career. Newton comes to the Spiegeltent armed with a breath-taking, rule-breaking, genre-hopping collection of songs that he says hit the sweet spot between the Tom Waits-y ‘real music’ side of him and his love of leftfield pop. newtonfaulkner.com

Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… without the rude bits! The show is family friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like ‘why is that your face!?’ comedyclub4kids.co.uk

This is ceilidh music as you’ve never heard (or seen) it before – make sure you bring your dancing shoes! ceilidhliberationfront.co.uk
