welcome Its good being fully open again! This weekend, the Rider Lounges will be open as we hopefully get back to normal. If, due to the Coronavirus you haven’t been able to see us for a while, as you travel around, you’ll see a few changes. Up by the Boyd Martin ETB Schooling Field we have a new Attwood arena. • This arena is at the center of one of our new programs – Integrated Training. • Integrated Training is an opportunity for riders and trainers to use both the BM, ETB Schooling Field and the new arena to practice all three phases of Eventing. • Riders and trainers Training Level and above are welcome and the cost is $100 including the use of the BM ETB Schooling Field. Please don’t forget Eventing Academy Trainer Incentives and Rider Package Discount programs. One of our long term hopes has been to watch a rider who started at the Eventing Academy - B/N or lower - compete in the Area 3 Championships. Please let us know if you are one of those riders. As we always say, while you are here, please be safe.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

CHRIS QUINN

Chris Quinn was always that horse crazy kid that came out of nowhere in a

suburban family in the middle of Long Island, NY with no other horse people around.

Fast forward to a life as a military spouse moving around the country with her (then) QH mare, moving from MD to WA, to TX before ending up in GA.

This is where eventing came into her life. As a volunteer, Chris has done literally every

job, but you will most often see her on the hospitality cart, driving around with smiles and her camera, taking photos of people and horses. Chris and her homebred mare,

Derby, can be seen out and around just having fun on the trails and on hunter paces. This weekend, Chris is jump judging. Smile as you go by her jump, as the camera will be out snapping you as you go by!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

MOLLY HOOPER BULL Molly began riding when she was in grade school and did Pony Club and eventing with her pony Cloud Nine, going on to earn her "B" in Pony Club before aging out.

She graduated from college at Washington and Lee University with a BA in English but decided to take a job working for Kim Severson rather than teaching English. She groomed for Kim for many years while bringing along her own horse, Kiltartan. With Tartan, she made the Developing Riders list and then went on to be on the Training list.

Some of their accolades include winning an Advanced division at Morven Park, placing 9th at Fair Hill CCI-3L (now 4L), and placing 4th in the CCIS at Richland Park. She also brought her mare Hole In One from Novice to Advanced before having to sell her.

Molly is an ICP level II certified instructor, and has gradually made a transition from competing and teaching to organizing events, since becoming the mom of Henry, her 10 year old son. She is the

organizer of the recognized events at our own Stable View, and also organizes horse trials at TRHC, FENCE, and Town Hill, as well as assisting with events at Sporting Days Farm and helping to organize a new Advanced level event in Canada called Equilibre Horse Trials.

In addition to organizing, Molly now competes her horse Ballinaguilkey Mike in dressage shows.

Last year they were successful at 2nd Level with a 1st and a 3rd at Dressage at Lexington over the summer.

In addition to horses, Molly's hobbies are hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, and reading, and she is often accompanied by her Golden Retriever Sadie. Molly's husband Eric built many of our cross country jumps here at Stable View and builds courses throughout the country.

KELLI TEMPLE

I love Aiken. I have been coming to Aiken in the winter with my horses for over

twenty years. It has that small town feel. I love it when I go to the feed store and

they remember my name. I love the weather, which can be cold but nothing like the winters in Virginia, and the sand footing that can take the rain and never get deep. For the last two years I have spent my winters in Aiken at Stable View. And I absolutely love Stable View. It is as close to home as I can get and I look forward to my time there every year. It

really is a “gathering place”. If you are interested in horses in an almost pathological way it is mecca. You are surrounded by the best of the best. Each day I get up and

realize I get to ride alongside some of the best riders in the country. I learn so much

by watching. Everything from top-class eventers, to dressage riders, to steeplechase trainers. Everyone has something to contribute.

The facilities at Stable View are like a dream come true. A multitude of arenas with

perfect Atwood footing to a covered arena, a cross-country schooling course, miles of hacking trails and a group of schooling and recognized shows that allow you to

get your game on without having to leave home to do it. All organized and cared for by the fantastic Stable View crew, that keep everything running smoothly.

Barry and Cyndy Oliff outdo themselves to make the Stable View experience the best it can be. It really is a home away from home. The feeling of camaraderie between horse people is hard to come by but they produce it effortlessly.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else to train my horses and I can’t wait until next year!
