PERFORMING!’ ADAM ZAMAN

Jake: We actually played a secret show last week in the UK that fans were told about the day before via email and it was a small acoustic set which was really cool. Adam: Yeah that‟s when you fell over getting on stage wasn't it? Jake: Thanks for telling everyone... Adam: You're welcome!

Jake: Adam, the most sarcastic human being on the planet Adam: Jakes mom Jake: (laughs, then gives dirty look) Twilight much??

Safe to say, Jake is the annoying one Adam: Can we say us? Jake: Obviously Adam: In that case Us, Paramore, You Me At Six, White Stripes, Vampire weekend Jake: At the moment it's got to be, Paramore, Mumford and Sons, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park and that really handsome band, Still Nameless?

Touring is always hard on a lot of bands, but Jake insists they still love it, s we sat backstage at their Birming„Sure, it gets hard, and there are nights when all you want to do is sleep. But the ham LG arena gig, Still Nameless looked thrill of being encored after a knock-out back on their year so far. Guitarist and gig, and the buzz backstage afterwards lead vocalist Adam said, “It‟s been so wild, will never get old! It‟s my motivation to I can‟t believe we‟ve had this much sucget on stage and play my best.‟ cess! Fans really seem to love our music Not many of you will know about and we love being out there performing!” the bands history before they were faDespite rumours of the band‟s mous, but NOISE can exclusively reveal spilt in 2009, Still Nameless drummer that there were two more members beJake assured NOISE that was nonsense, fore they were signed by FueledByRamen. “We have had so much left we want to do, Adam told NOISE, „They lost faith in the and we‟re not about to give up on everyband so they left. There isn‟t any hard thing we‟ve worked so damn hard for!” feelings at all—they still help us out on Having been off the scene for a tour! They‟re with us in the UK tour right while following the release of the 2006 now.‟ album „Whorses‟, NOISE wanted to know This album has successfully capwhat they did in their break. Jake said, tured our ears, hearts and the “Well, we didn‟t really know what to do alternative rock movement. with ourselves. We‟d had so much fun in With influences like Blink the spotlight on tour we lost sight of why 182 it‟s not hard to see we started Still Nameless. It became more why this new album is so of a job instead of something we did befun. cause we love it, so we took a „creative So far they‟ve toured break‟ and the came up whole of with Europe, the Logical States, and NonSouth sense”. America.

Adam: It's been pretty crazy. One fan came up to me and asked me to sign her boob! Awkward times....Of course, I did it...she asked me so nicely! (laughs) My mom‟s coming to see us too in London, and she‟s never seen us play a proper gig in a proper venue, and she‟s really excited! It hasn‟t really sunk in just how well we‟ve done. We've played places we didn't know existed which is pretty cool. Jake: Well, I knew they existed, you're just an idiot, but yeah it's been amazing, some of the things we've seen and done I wouldn't have imagined of doing in a million years. And it‟s not just Adam with crazy fans! I‟ve now been sent knickers in the post of all shapes and sizes, and this one lad thrust a guitar in my face and asked me to sign it and play on it! We‟ve got good Christmas stories this year, ennit Adam. Adam: (laughs) well yeah, although, I‟m not sure my Nan wants to hear about the boob signing....

“Music is our Life” Jake Mason

For those of you that are familiar with the whole album [released 29/10/2010] you will know the album is just as fun as their current single ‘Genius in the making’. Adam told NOISE, “ We wanted to put more fun into the new album, because Whorses was really slow and frankly, depressing. We wanted this album to be more upbeat in a Tom DeLonge sort of way”. Jake jumped in with, “ Yeah, we had a jamming session in the studio and came up with 5 songs! It‟s crazy! I don‟t think any band has ever done that.” Adam reckons that the bands newfound work ethic is the reason this album has become such a hit, „We really want this, we want to make music for the fans not just to say thanks for their constant support, but because we love doing it!‟ Jake, counting his lucky stars said, „Music really is our life, however stupidly cliché that is — we never want this to end!‟ And NOISE can see why, could you ever imagine these boys in an office job?!

They‟re now finishing up their tour back home in the UK with huge venues like Brum‟s LG arena and London‟s Wembley arena. When asked about their sell out Wembley gig, Adam told NOISE, “ We‟re really excited about it! We‟ve always wanted to play somewhere like that, and it‟s such a great achievement. We‟re planning on filming the gig in London and releasing a live album/DVD—but that‟ll take a few months to complete, so check out our website for news!” [stillnameless.net] With a year like this, it can safely be said we expect great things from Still Nameless and when asked, Jake said, “ We‟re gonna concentrate on the live album for now, but we‟re not ruling anything out. So— who knows?!”

A full gig review of the Wembley gig will feature in next months Christmas special, but for more information on tour dates, see page 46.

IDentity theft In 2010 it has been estimated 15 million people where affected by identity theft, either stolen, or misused. Elliot was amongst these victims. Aged 20, Elliot is a full time fitness model, and fitness star for VOID magazine. He, like millions around the UK has underestimated identity fraud. Elliot was affected by a common type of identity theft; Bin raiding. Elliot’s email address was stolen, and used to retrieve previous photographs for VOID magazine. These photographs were soon seized by hackers and VOID’s best model was quickly stripped of his identity. Still unaware, Elliot’s photos appeared in local fashion and health magazines 3 weeks later, until the owner of the VOID spotted the model on other unknown magazines. The hacker sold the photographs as his own to small publishers and companies. This type of fraud is very common in the UK 79% of households in the UK have more than two documents with important information in one single bin bag. However it was double trouble for Elliot, as his credit card details were also discovered from his email. Elliot said “I wasn't aware the risks I was putting myself into” Simple, Stupid, Slip ups can cause you a lot of problems. Don’t be loose with your identity, keep it safe, because it is who you are. Every year in the UK identity fraud costs more than £2.7billion and this figure is rising. Don’t be part of something you don’t need to, keep your identity safe. without

How does it affect you?

Bin raiding is very dangerous, it takes seconds to throw away important documents, but you may deal with the consequences for years. Depending on the document, the raider could access your bank account, email account, social networks and your national insurance number. Allowing them to illegally misuse your information. To solve this issue you need to follow Elliot’s Top Ten Tips, to help on bin raiding and more.

Fight “phishing” – Don’t take the bait. Shred all important documents before disposal. Shield your computer from viruses and spies. Check your bills and bank statements. Close credit card accounts you don't use on a regular basis. Watching your Wallet Prevents People from stealing your identity. Keep all passwords hidden. Uses caution everywhere you use your card.
