This exercise was to contribute to a zine called “SF Mappa-Auqua”, a low-tech publication illustrating (as map / schematics) different principles of water (in all its forms) within the city of San Francisco. The title of Mappa Auqua makes reference to the term Mappa Mundi, the world maps created during medieval Europe. Mappae mundi were never meant to be used as navigational charts and they make no pretense of showing the relative areas of land and water, instead they were schematic and were meant to illustrate different principles. A mapping of patterns of a city on the basis of ideas of the international Situationist movement were explored.
