OUR NEW LOGO
We use positive space to form the shield and use negative space to indicate our brand 17. This leads the audience’s visual flow from shield to 17. The shield is a first hook to understand the meaning of the brand—confidence and security— followed by recognition of the number 17, the brand name.

Final logotype
28
Our logotype was modified from Gotham condensed bold, which delivers a feeling of stability and solidity, but also looks contemporary and not old fashioned.
We modified all the letters’ right hand corners from straight corners to rounded, which delivers a sense of softness and femininity, but kept the rest of the sharp corners to show contrast— teen girls are caring and affectionate, but also powerful and confident.
Letter ‘E’
In addition, we did two tricks with the letter ‘E’. The arm on the ‘E’ has been detached to suggest the shield shape. It is detached to reflect the separation of the numbers 1 and 7 in the logo. This matched the treatment of the logo mark.

Composition Variations
Our logo can be used in different ways as per the given format. The following are the variations of our logo that are accepted. Our logo system includes vertical lock up, horizontal lock up, symbol, and logotype.
Vertical lock up
The vertical lock up logo is the preferred version which should be used whenever possible. It can be replaced only for special sizes mentioned below.
Horizontal lock up
The horizontal lock up should be used only when the space dictates that the vertical usage is not possible.
Symbol
The symbol may be used separately in context where Seventeen need to be shown in an abstract way. Symbol can be used to promote the brand merchandise and for digital presence like App icon.
Logotype
The logotype can be used where the symbol is not absolutely necessary or can’t be legibly reproduced.
