Instructions for decorative Christmas stars 1
For one star, take one pack of FIMO effect in the gemstone colour rose quartz, ruby quartz, citrinquartz, jade green, agate blue or blue ice quartz and roll it out to a sheet using the acrylic roller first and then the clay machine on setting 1. Roll out a second sheet of FIMO effect in the same gemstone colour. Then place the two sheets next to each other, overlapping slightly at the side; fold in half and roll out again on setting 1. Continue to roll, fold and roll again until you are left with a large, smooth sheet of FIMO effect. Finish off by rolling it thinner on setting 4. To create transitions in colour, place two sheets of different-coloured FIMO effect on top of each other, overlapping slightly at the join – e.g. FIMO effect in the gemstone colours agate blue and blue ice quartz. As described above, roll, fold and roll again until you are left with the desired blend. Always fold and roll lengthwise.
2
To create a crackle effect, roll out one sheet of FIMO effect – e.g. in the gemstone colour citrinequartz – using the clay machine (see step 1). Cover the sheet of FIMO effect with gold leaf metal. Smooth over the surface with your finger. Next, roll the sheet of FIMO effect in the clay machine on setting 1, fold it, roll again on setting 1, fold it and then roll again on setting 4.
3
Print and cut out the pattern sheet of your choice. Place the sheet of FIMO effect on the baking paper. Next, position the paper star on top of the sheet of FIMO effect, press on gently with your finger and then cut the star out of the sheet, going around the edge of the paper with the kitchen knife. Remove any excess modelling clay. If you like, you can then use shaped cutters to cut motifs out of the star.
This leaves you with an attractive crackle pattern.

Instructions for decorative Christmas stars 4
For stars with embossed art nouveau or oriental patterns, place the cut-out FIMO effect star on the baking paper. Moisten the texture sheet with a little water and position it on the star. Pay attention to the run of the pattern. Position the semi-transparent texture sheet so that the patterns are arranged symmetrically on the FIMO effect star. Now roll over the texture sheet firmly using the acrylic roller. Carefully peel the texture sheet off. In the case of larger stars, position the texture sheet on the areas yet to be embossed, roll over firmly with the acrylic roller and then peel off again.
5
Use your finger to gently rub gold metallic powder over all of the elevated parts of the pattern. For stars which are to be hung up, use a pointed modelling stick or bead piercing needle to make a hole in one of the star‘s points. Harden all of the stars on the baking paper for approx. 30 minutes at 110°C, allow to cool and then varnish. If you like, you can stick small stars onto large stars or offset same-sized stars and glue them together. Hang the stars up with ribbon or stick them onto window panes using adhesive tape.
