Instructions for heavenly candlesticks in a vintage look 1
To make one pair of angel wings, take one pack of FIMO effect in the gemstone colour ruby quartz and roll it out to a sheet using the acrylic roller first and then the clay machine on setting 1. Roll out a second sheet of FIMO effect in ruby quartz. Then place the two sheets on top of each other along the long edge, overlapping slightly at the join; fold in half and roll out again on setting 1. Continue to roll, fold and roll again until you are left with a large, smooth sheet of FIMO effect. Always put the folded sheet into the clay machine folded edge first.
2
Print and cut out the pattern sheets required. You can see which angel wings belong together by the numbers on the pattern sheet. Place the sheet of FIMO effect on the baking paper. Next, place the first wing pattern sheet on it, press on gently with your finger and then cut the wing out by going around the edge of the template with the kitchen knife.
3
Put both wings on the baking paper so that they meet in the middle. Smooth over the join with your fingers. Next, carefully cover the wings with gold leaf metal. Gently smooth over the leaf metal using your finger or a brush first and then roll over it using the acrylic roller.
Remove any excess modelling clay, knead it, press it flat, roll out another sheet of FIMO effect as described in step 1 and then cut out the second wing.

Put the pattern sheets back on the wings and firmly trace over the long lines on the wing tips using a pointed modelling stick, exerting a little pressure as you do so. Remove the pattern sheets and use the modelling stick to deepen the grooved lines. For the pattern on the wings, create semicircular indents by pressing a flat, rounded modelling tool into the clay. Press on just deeply enough to cause the leaf metal to shift slightly, thereby making the FIMO effect gemstone colour underneath visible. Lay the golden FIMO effect angel wings on baking paper and harden in the oven for approx. 30 min at 110°C. Take them out and leave to cool for a while.
5
To make it easier to attach the wings to the bottle later on, they need to be bent a little: Lay a bottle down like in the photo and, while still warm, place the wings on the bottle neck and press in the middle to make them slightly curved. Support the tips of the wings using small wooden blocks – this will keep them straight. Leave in this position to cool thoroughly. Make two holes in the middle of the wings using the punch pliers. Thread an approx. 10 to 15 cm long piece of gold wire through the holes. Hold the FIMO effect angel wings in place on the neck of the bottle. Use the flat nose pliers to twist the ends of the wire until the gold wire is close to the neck of the bottle and the angel wings are firmly in place. Cut off any excess wire. All that remains to be done now is to stick a candle in at the top and light it.
Tip: Small FIMO effect angel wings can be used as Christmas decorations for adding a ‚heavenly‘ touch to any table: Make the wings as described above using the pattern sheets (no. 4). Lay a wine glass down and curve the wings around its stem. Thread a piece of gold cord through the wings to tie them to the stem of the glass. If the glass stems are very smooth and straight, add a little transparent all-purpose glue to the middle of the wings before tying them to the glass. Fill the glass with deco glass stones or snow crystals and add a tea-light. 3
