STEP 1 Knead two portions of brown FIMO to soften and roll 4 mm deep. Cut a 3 cm circle and squash into an egg shape for the owl’s body. Flatten 2 small balls of yellow for eyes and press into place. Mark with lines and add tiny black balls in the middle. Roll some orange FIMO 2 mm deep and cut feet, a beak and a triangle for above the eyes. Press into place.

STEP 2 Roll some black FIMO 3 mm deep. Cut a diamond shape 2.5 cm across and angle on top of a strip of black 1.5 cm x 0.5 mm. Make a hole in the middle of the mortar board and fill with a thin strand of black FIMO for the tassel. Carefully press onto your owl’s head. Cut small black triangles for the wings and press into place.

STEP 3 Roll some white FIMO 1mm deep. Cut a 2 cm square, roll into a scroll and wrap a thin red ribbon strip around the middle, then tuck under your owl’s wing. Decorate different colour strips for books underneath your owl. Place onto a baking tray. Oven-bake for 30 minutes at 110°C/230°F and allow to cool. Glue your finished owl onto a folded card, decorate its chest with feathers and deliver to someone wise!
