Trendy jewellery in pink and orange
These bright and colourful pieces of jewellery are like the setting sun in a summer sky. Ideal accessories for groovy parties – whether on holiday or in the local disco. The round shapes are really in fashion and go perfectly with the current retro style. You’re certain to attract plenty of attention with these gems too as the orange, red and pink colours simply can’t be missed! What’s more, having made the trendy pieces yourself, you’ll wear them with enormous pride. You will need these STAEDTLER products: • 1 block each of FIMO soft in the colours raspberry (8020-22), indian red (8020-24) and tangerine (8020-42) • and the FIMO accessories ring base with round bezel (8625 01), acrylic roller (8700 05), gloss varnish (8703 01BK) and oven thermometer (8700 02, optional) You will also require: • smooth work surface (glass or ceramic) • round cutters in four sizes (approx. 1.5 – 4.5 cm) • needles • choker-style necklace with clasp • split ring, approx. 8 mm in diameter • 6 eye pins • 2 hook earrings • elastic, transparent thread • craft pliers • Pattex MULTI all-purpose glue more creative tips at www.staedtler.com
Step 1 Using the acrylic roller, make three uniform-sized sheets out of the different colours of FIMO soft. Take care as you do so that all three sheets are approx. 2 mm thick.
Step 2 Now cut out different-sized red, orange and pink circles. It’s best if you think beforehand about which colours you’re going to need in which sizes.
Step 3 For the pendant, use a large orange-coloured circle for the first layer. Then place another two smaller circles in pink and red in the middle and press on lightly. Fill the bezel of the ring with tangerine FIMO. For the top, use the second-largest orange circle for the bottom layer and then add the next smallest circles in pink and red. Position everything on the ring base and press on carefully. TIP: In order to ensure that the ring doesn’t fall over and deform the ring top during the hardening process, press the round part of the ring into a left-over bit of FIMO before placing it in the oven. Step 4 To make the bracelet, you will need the second-largest circles too. Take two different-coloured circles and place them on top of each other. Pierce a hole through the middle using a needle.

Step 5 For the earrings, use the needle to pierce a hole through two small red circles, two medium-small pink ones and two medium-large orange ones and then insert the eye pins right away. In the case of the two small circles, allow the end of the eye pin to stand out far enough to enable you to bend another eyelet at the bottom. The pin should not be visible at the end of the bottom circles. You should take measurements beforehand and, if necessary, use the pliers to shorten the pins. Make a hole in the pendant too. Step 6 Harden all the pieces of jewellery in the oven for 30 minutes at 110 °C. After cooling, attach the split ring to the pendant and stick the ring top to the ring base using the all-purpose glue. If necessary, use the glue to set the eye pins in position too. TIP: If, when it comes to sticking the ring top to the ring base, the FIMO doesn’t come out on its own, it can be loosened by carefully turning it and knocking on the edge.
Step 7 To make the bracelet, string the double-sided circles onto the elastic thread and tie the ends together in a knot.
Step 8 Using the craft pliers, bend the bottom ends of the pins to make eyelets and hang the three circles together. Attach to the earring hooks at the top. To finish off, you can add a coat of FIMO gloss varnish to all of the pieces of jewellery.
