The Gatehouse Youth Theatre is a unique, fun and imaginative group. We run weekly workshops for 7 to 18 year olds in drama, aiding the children’s performance skills as well as increasing their confidence and self expression. The content of each term will support the development of the individual, a sense of ensemble, teamwork, learning and of course lots of fun! Our children and young people receive an unrivalled opportunity to learn and perform within a professional theatre. 10 – 12pm Term Time Mondays – Suitable from 6 months to 6 years Join Georgie for a morning of discovery and fun, where children can sing songs, listen to stories, dress up and make masks, accessories and props. The sessions are planned and themed to ensure that the children build a rounded skill set and access the essential life skills that engaging in the arts encourages. Our aim is: • To build confidence and development in early years • To strengthen parent/carer - child bonds, providing a positive focus for shared experience and communication • Provide a fun, safe and relaxed environment to engage children with the arts from a young age • Develop social skills and fire little imaginations

A school partnership with the theatre can enrich the lives of your students, at every level of development. In 2019 the Gatehouse loaned hundreds of costumes and props, helped children with stage fright, voice projection and direction, we allowed many schools a backstage insight into a professional working theatre, as they discovered lighting effects, hilarious sound effects and even the trap door! We can bring story bear to your early years departments and you can bring your key stage four students to the set of our open air Shakespeare production. However we can help, we would love to and through our partnership with the University of Wolverhampton we can really make a difference.
