Weber County enjoys a sustainable, 5-year, 15 percent job growth rate and is predicted to be nearly 40% over the next ten years, which is higher than the US average of 33.5%. It is estimated that more than 10,000 jobs will be created in Weber County during the next five years alone.

The workforce is diverse and growing with strong competencies in manufacturing, aerospace and defense, life sciences, education and finance. In 2019, Ogden City kicked off “MAKE Ogden,” a comprehensive master plan to guide future development of the city’s downtown area through the next two decades. The plan will improve downtown walkability, preserve historic structures, increase the quality of and programming at parks and open spaces, develop strong social services and amenities in the downtown area, and strengthen the identity of Ogden through year-round cultural experiences and events.
