Fever... baby fever

Image courtesy of teepee and tent

jenny gumbert I always used to pride myself on not being one of those people...baby people. I would never get hysterical when looking at images of people’s children, or felt an uncontrollable urge to steal an adorable baby sitting near me at a restaurant. I thought that maybe I had just been spared that gene that makes women’s clocks tick and gives them the intense yearning to reproduce. Oh, how young and naive I was. Now that I’ve entered my mid-twenties, I’ve got a fever, and

the only cure, is a chubby baby. Now that kids are on my mind, I can’t help but squeal whenever I come across something sweet that I need for my future young one. For example, I really want a teepee or colorful tent. I understand that this isn’t exactly an appropriate purchase for a sane adult, so I guess the purchase of a precious hideaway will just have to wait until I procreate. Now please, revel in the unadulterated cuteness of the following items.

1. Organic Splatter Jumpsuit by Koolabah from Thumbeline, $48 - It’s hard to find an outfit for a wee one that isn’t going to look adorable, but I think that this jumpsuit will make my baby pretty cool. Hipster baby, here I come. 2. Wild Things Crown from Oeuf, $38 - Playing dress up was always my favorite game as a kid and is an activity that I would love for my future youngster to embrace. Any child will feel like royalty in this knit crown. 3. Finger Puppet Box by Lazy Animals, $82 for set - Let’s face it: youngins will make any object—stuffed animal or napkin—a puppet. Why not give them the real thing and a little home to hold their new finger puppet friends. 4. Tea Otter Beverage Set from Abe’s Market, $25 - Playing tea is an activity that most little girls (and boys) adore. Bringing the fun to the bathtub only increases the awesome. But why is there an otter holding the tea cup? Your kid won’t care.
