Sweater

Weather jenny gumbert In most parts of the country the beginning of September means that fall is quickly approaching. Soon there will be changing leaves, pumpkin-flavored confections, and sexy boots. But my favorite piece to indulge in is the oh-so-cozy sweater. I know that my fellow Standard cohorts in Austin will think I’m crazy for writing about any items made out of wool right now, but I’m currently living in Minnesota where I better enjoy the nippy weather before it turns into a full-blown snowpocalypse. So here’s to beautiful knitwear, like this lovely boyfriend sweater by Stewart+Brown; an oversized sweater like this is perfect for layering over blouses, button-ups and even slinky dresses.

1. Kingston Thick & Thin Sweater by Good Night, Day, $198 - I love everything in this hand knit line, all done by one amazing lady named Tara-Lynn Morrison. The burnt orange of this sweater is reminiscent of the corals that were so popular this summer. 2. Oversized Colorblock Sweater from The Future Standard, $49.95 The neutral colorblocking on the v-neck makes it look incredibly sophisticated. 3. Sweater by Gretchen Jones, price upon request - Gretchen Jones has a way of making even the simplest pieces look wonderfully hip. 4. Skyline Cardigan by Micaela Greg, $335 - This long cardigan makes me want to cuddle into the corner of a coffee shop with a good book and a hot lattĂŠ.
