Goodbye Summer

Feel that cool breeze in the air? No? Well, I swear it’s coming. Before we know it the toasty weather that we are so eager to be rid of will be replaced with frigid winds and dry skin. I am excited for fall, but I also know myself well enough to predict a fall backlash in my future where I will be longing for the seemingly endless warm days of July. So to commemorate the end of summer, let’s start waxing nostal-

gic about our favorite warm weather items and activities. Here are a few things that I will miss about these past few sizzling months. Summer is pretty much synonymous with vacation and while I didn’t embark on any tropical travels, this outdoor shower by Oborain makes me think of long hot days at a cabin or dreamy weeks in the tropics.

1. Sugar Cones by Virginia Sin from Gernerate Design, $39 for set of two - Sure, you can try to consume frozen treats in the autumn, but there’s nothing quite like finishing a long day of swimming with an ice cream cone. Just make sure not to bite into these ones. 2. Vertical Garden by Plantzilla, $65 - One of the most depressing things about the long, cold days of fall and winter is the lack of greenery. Changing leaves are beautiful, but I think I’ll invest in an indoor garden to keep some shrubbery in my life. 3. Preppie Retro Sun Readerfrom ICU Eyewear, $25.95 - Wearing sunglasses in November just doesn’t look at cool as it does in the summer. 4. Teak Chaise Lounge from Diamond Teak, starting at $3,580 - I’m sorry to say adios to the days of lounging outside on a chaise with a good book.
