There’s a Light

There are a multitude of occasions where candles are appropriate—a romantic evening, a dinner party, a seance... the list goes on. There’s just something about lighting a few during the colder months that really gets me. As the days get shorter and your electric bill goes up, it’s nice to take a step back, turn off the lamps, and illuminate your home the old-fashioned way. An added bonus? These things will make your place smell amazing!

Don’t have a fire to give your home that smoky woodsy smell? There’s a candle for that. Plus there’s a multitude of fun accessories to buy to go along with your wax cylinders. These candle holders from Unison would make a great statement piece in a living or dining room. Just don’t get too crazy with similarly styled accessories or your house may start to look like a medieval Gothic church.

4 1. Hunter Candle by MCMC Fragrances, $48 - This is one of my very favorite fragrances. Now I have the chance to have my whole home smell as wonderful as I do. 2. Birch Bark Candle from Leif, $18 - If I had a dime for every time that I’ve felt both rustic and in need of light... 3. Illume Boho Oceano Candle from Layla Grayce, $13- There may be snow on the ground right now, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t pretend that you’re on vacation near the beach. Throw on some sandals and burn this candle—you’re practically there. 4. At The Cabin Votive Set by Glassybaby, $220 - These votives make me extremely happy because the colors are not too frou frou—perfect to illuminate a low-key meal with some friends.
