Los Angeles is notorious for its bumper-to-bumper traffic and congested roadways, but Angelenos experienced a different kind of traffic Sunday, October 7. Approximately 100,000 bicyclists, pedestrians and skateboarders flooded the streets of downtown Los Angeles for the fifth annual CicLAvia. The event, which originated in Bogota, Columbia, closed a nine mile stretch of road to motor vehicles for five hours allowing bicyclists, pedestrians and skateboarders to roam freely off the sidewalks.

we predict... …you’ll be inspired by the bicyclists at CicLAvia, both on and off the road. To keep the cycling celebration going, try a rug made from bicycle tires or a pendant light made from bicycle spokes and hubs. Even if a bike isn’t your main mode of transportation, we’re sure you’ll want to bring these bike-friendly pieces into your home.
