WELCOME TO SUMMER SCHOOL 2025

This year marks the 25th summer St. Andrew’s College has offered Ontario academic credit courses. The summer session provides a unique opportunity for motivated students to earn an academic credit in a small class setting and have flexibility in selecting courses for their graduating year. These benefits contribute to the ultimate goal of meeting the rising university entrance standards.

THE FOLLOWING COURSES ARE OFFERED

GRADE 9

MATHEMATICS (MTH1W)

Prerequisite: Recommended minimum grade of 85% in Grade 8

GRADE 10

CANADIAN HISTORY SINCE WORLD WAR I (CHC2D)*

Prerequisite: None

PRINCIPLES OF MATHEMATICS (MPM2D)

Prerequisite: Recommended minimum 85% in Grade 9 Mathematics (MTH1W)

SCIENCE (SNC2D)

Prerequisite: Science, Grade 9 (SNC1D)

GRADE 11

BIOLOGY (SBI3U)

Prerequisite: Science, Grade 10 (SNC2D)

FUNCTIONS (MCR3U)*

Prerequisite: Principles of Mathematics, Grade 10 (MPM2D)

GRADE 12

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS (MHF4U)

Prerequisite: Functions, Grade 11 (MCR3U)

CALCULUS AND VECTORS (MCV4U)*

Prerequisite: Advanced Functions, Grade 12 (MHF4U)

Please note MCV4U is the prerequisite course for AP Calculus (IDC4UP)

*This course running is subject to enrolment.

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:

► Boarders move in Wednesday, June 18 after 7 p.m.

► Saturday class June 21 (all day)

► Boarding closed June 27, 4 p.m. to June 30, 6 p.m.

► Classes will be held on July 1, Canada Day

► Mid-Term Report Cards July 2

► Final Exam July 11 at 12:30 p.m.

CLASS SIZE

DAILY SCHEDULE:

PERIOD 1: PERIOD 2: PERIOD 3: PERIOD 4: 8:30 - 10 a.m. 10:15 - 11:45 a.m. 12:15 - 1:45 p.m. 2 - 3:30 p.m.

►Classes are limited to 18 students; courses require a minimum number of students to run

MODE OF DELIVERY

►In person

►Free extra help on Zoom each school night

TECH

►SAC and SAS students: laptop and help desk support available

►Non-SAC students: loaner laptops (with stylus) available if needed for OneNote; notes and course documents using Microsoft Teams and OneNote

FEES

►Day students $1,950 (includes textbook, lunches, and Zoom help)

►Boarding students $4,470 (SAC students only; includes course fee and boarding fee; boarding closes Friday, June 27 at 4 p.m. until Monday, June 30, at 6 p.m.)

►Health coverage: $50
