Welcome from the Director of Advancement

We are deeply grateful for our donor community and the positive impact you continue to have on St. Anne’s School. Since our inception, you have generously supported SAS, whether through your time, financial contributions, or both. Your commitment continues to make a profound difference in the lives of our students, and we are truly thankful.

Philanthropy plays a crucial role in our ability to offer rich and dynamic educational experiences. While tuition covers the general operations of the school, donations are essential in allowing us to provide the excellence in education that defines St. Anne’s. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we are able to transform our campus, enhance facilities, provide bursaries, and create enriching programs that foster the growth and success of our students.

It brings us great joy to see the spirit of giving so deeply embedded, especially in these early years. Our Dream it Forward Campaign, St. Anne’s first capital campaign, is already making history, transforming Dunin House and other key facilities on campus. The progress we’ve made would not be possible without the ongoing generosity of donors like you.

We are excited to share with you our inaugural Biennial Donor Impact Report, which highlights the incredible difference your support has made in advancing St. Anne’s. We are proud to showcase some of our recent achievements and illustrate how your contributions have directly impacted the growth of the school. We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our progress and know that your generosity has helped make these accomplishments possible.

Together, we’ve already achieved so much, and as we look to the future, we are filled with anticipation for the exciting opportunities ahead for St. Anne’s. With you by our side, we are confident that we will continue to build a bright and successful future for our students, shaping the next generation of leaders through the power of philanthropy.

Thank you once again for being such a vital part of our journey. We are incredibly fortunate to have you as a supporter of St. Anne’s.

Sincerely,

Our Community’s Impact

Message from the Head of School

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was St. Anne’s School.

The past four years have been filled with many milestone moments that enrich the story of St. Anne’s School. The impact that our generous donors have had on that story is woven into the very fabric of our community. I am humbled by the generosity, passion, and unwavering support of our donors, many of whom believed in our mission long before we officially opened our doors. Your contributions have allowed us not only to exist but to thrive.

The dollars you have provided have laid the foundation for facilities and programs that are as innovative as they are inspiring. These spaces and opportunities are critical to inspiring our students to find their voices, develop confidence, and meet our school’s mission: empowering girls to be courageous learners and compassionate citizens who live and lead with wisdom. They also ensure our girls receive the same exceptional programming and opportunities as their counterparts at our partner school, St. Andrew’s College. Together, we are providing a platform that elevates girls’ intelligence, power, and ambition in the classroom, on the playing fields, in art studios, science labs, the makerspace, and beyond. We are preparing them to explore the world without boundaries – locally, nationally, and globally.

The Dream it Forward Campaign made possible the renovation of Dunin House, the 40,000-square-foot building that is the heart of St. Anne’s campus. The $25-million project transformed a historic Jacobean manor into a state-of-the-art teaching and learning space. Today, it features naturally bright classrooms, vibrant social spaces, a small gymnasium, a wellness studio, a two-story Fab Lab equipped with cutting-edge technology, a dining hall, and three of the most popular spaces on campus: the Cericola Café, the Cygnets Shop, and the Great Hall. This transformation is a testament to the generosity of our donors, including parents of current students and those who we know will continue to support St. Anne’s long after their daughters have graduated.

St. Anne’s School’s Mission Statement

The Cygnets Centre, a fully renovated 10,000-square-foot facility, is another significant addition to our campus. With eight teaching and learning spaces and offices for IT and Network Services, it supports our growing community and deepens our programmatic offerings.

In partnership with the Town of Aurora and the Shining Hill Group, we are developing a two-acre turf field that will provide our students with a breadth of athletic opportunities. Research shows that participation in sports plays a pivotal role in building confidence, resilience, and leadership in girls. At St. Anne’s, one of our cornerstones is encouraging students to explore a variety of activities and discover their passions. It has been exhilarating to witness the transformative power of physical activity and teamwork in developing strong character and leadership skills. These experiences are possible because of your generosity.

As we look toward the future of St. Anne’s, our dreams remain as bold as ever. With a growing community, unique programming, and a steadfast focus on health and well-being, we are committed to ensuring our campus evolves into the best school for girls in North America. Your generosity matters. It turns dreams into reality. Together, we are creating leaders and change-makers who will shape the future. Thank you for believing in the power of girls.

With gratitude,

Together we are Dreaming it Forward

“You get very few chances in life to do something that’s going to have a lasting and meaningful impact well into the future. A gift to St. Anne’s means you’ll be doing something that will be improving girls’ lives more than a century from now, and that, I think, is a wonderful kind of immortality.”

In 2020, St. Anne’s embarked on a groundbreaking journey with the launch of the Dream It Forward Campaign, a landmark initiative in the school’s history as its inaugural capital campaign. Phase A of the campaign is focused on the enhancement of key areas across our campus, with the goal of creating spaces that elevate and support the academic, social, and extracurricular life of our students.

The revitalization of Dunin House into a transformative learning space for young women has been a dream come true for our current families. The extensive renovations have created an environment that cultivates collaborative, student-focused spaces that inspire creativity and passion.

With the rapid growth of our community, we have expanded with the addition of the Cygnets Centre, thanks to your support. The Cygnets Centre offers additional classrooms, a space for faculty, an IT centre, and a Learning Resource Centre with workspace cubicles for faculty or students who need a private work area.

We are also excited for the opening of a turf field adjacent to our property. This turf field will allow our students to host home games and enjoy athletics throughout the warmer months. A four-acre parcel of land, comprised of a sports field and town park, will be a game-changer for our school and the wider community. The plan includes a playground, pickleball courts, and multi-use courts and is a partnership with Shining Hill Group and the Town of Aurora. We can’t wait to see our students enjoying these new facilities.

A summer renovation project we’re thrilled to announce is the installation of an on-site kitchen. This new build will span a remarkable 1280 square feet, allowing us to provide students with a full dining and kitchen service experience.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Dream it Forward Campaign has already had a significant impact, enriching both our facilities and the student experience in ways that will benefit future generations. Every contribution, regardless of size, plays a vital role in shaping an environment where our students are empowered to thrive. Together, we are building a legacy that will resonate for years to come.

Dreaming Forward a Bright Future

The St. Anne’s Endowment Fund is the cornerstone of our school’s continued strength and growth, providing enduring support. We are proud to share that 22% of our students benefit from financial assistance, made possible through both merit-based and needs-based bursaries, including the Anne Dunin Scholarship. This scholarship is available to new students entering Grade 9 and continues to graduation, empowering students facing financial hurdles to seize the extraordinary educational opportunities we have to offer.

Contributions to the endowment not only create named bursaries, ensuring that a St. Anne’s education remains accessible to deserving students, but also provide vital funding for long-term financial sustainability, enhancing our academic programs and securing the future of our cherished traditions. We are profoundly grateful to our donors for their steadfast commitment to the Endowment Fund. Their generosity is an investment in the future, enabling us to nurture the potential of every student and ensuring that St. Anne’s continues to thrive for generations to come.

The Kubica-LaCroix Family is Dreaming it Forward

The opportunity to help create lasting change in our community and the lives of so many girls for generations was something our family immediately embraced. St. Anne’s School is building a world-class foundation of tradition, education, and empowerment for young women, and we are proud to help champion these values and SAS in its establishing years. This endeavour has given our family a chance to participate deeply in our community as it continues to grow and to support our daughter, who will be part of the school’s first graduating class. We are so excited for the future of St. Anne’s and thrilled to be a part of this new chapter.

Our Parent Community is Dreaming it Forward

The 2023-2024 school year marked several exciting milestones for St. Anne’s, including the launch of our Parents Guild Executive (PGE). This dedicated group of parent volunteers plays a pivotal role in advancing community spirit through their fundraising efforts and commitment to volunteerism.

With the collective support of our parent community, the PGE successfully raised an impressive $50,588 to support philanthropic initiatives and capital priorities at St. Anne’s. It has been truly inspiring to witness our parents come together in support of various initiatives, including the parent social, holiday fundraiser, the Red & White Gala, and the Fall Cygneture Event.

We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and dedication they have invested in strengthening our school community. Their contributions have made a lasting impact, and we look forward to the continued success of the Parents Guild.

Opportunities to shape something from the ground up are rare, and your generosity is the foundation of our success. It is because of your support that we are able to grow, drive meaningful change, and bring our shared vision to life. Your commitment is transforming aspirations into reality. Together, we are not only shaping a bright future for the young women of today but also empowering the leaders of tomorrow.
