Welcome to
ST ANDREW’S
Thanks for coming along to church today. At St Andrew’s, we want to welcome everyone; Christian believers, those seeking faith, skeptics, all who are looking for a spiritual home in Hong Kong. At each Sunday service we seek to learn more about the truths of God from the Bible, and encourage one another in our faith in Jesus. If you’re new, come along to the red welcome table in the north entrance foyer after the service. We’d love to be able to meet you, welcome you personally, and answer any of your questions.
‘THE NEST CAFÉ’ ST ANDREW’S Many of you would know about plans for a café to open at St Andrew’s. Those plans are soon to come to completion. When you come to church on 18 March, you can expect to find ‘The Nest’ café at the North Lobby of the Life Centre. ‘The Nest’ will be a social enterprise café operated by the Nesbit Centre. The Nesbit Centre provides educational and training programs for English speaking adults with learning disabilities. Apart from selling excellent coffee, beverages and snacks, ‘The Nest’ will be a training location, operating 7 days a week. There is a similar café at St John’s Cathedral and a restaurant at the Maritime Museum. St Andrew’s is pleased to provide the space in the Life Centre rent-free. As well as supporting the work of the Nesbit Centre, we hope this café will be an outreach opportunity into our community, attracting newcomers to our church. This café will also have a significant impact on St Andrew’s community life. It will be a focal point of activity and socialising after our Sunday services, a place to buy resources at an upgraded bookstall, and a great way to welcome friends and newcomers. It will be a great opportunity for you to stay around after church and enjoy fellowship with others. Rev. Alex McCoy Vicar

Bible Reading Exodus 17:1-7 1
The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, travelling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So they quarrelled with Moses and said, ‘Give us water to drink.’ Moses replied, ‘Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the LORD to the test?’ 3
But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, ‘Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?’ 4
Then Moses cried out to the LORD, ‘What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.’ 5
The LORD answered Moses, ‘Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.’ So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarrelled and because they tested the LORD saying, ‘Is the LORD among us or not?’
