Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. “Awesome” is a 1967 C code Coupe that I bought in 1998 as a pre-retirement present to myself when I was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO with the 2/10 SFG(A). At the time, she was completely stock, but complete, running a bit rough, and had her fair share of rust. The majority of the restoration/modification came after I retired in 1999 and moved to San Antonio. All-in-all, it took about 20 years to get her to the point she is today, and I still have a couple ideas I want to incorporate in her.

If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

Mods? Just about everything. The back seat is the only piece that is totally original. The engine block and crank are original to the car with the addition of Edelbrock 2221 roller cam, Comp Cams hydraulic roller rockers, 10:1 compression pistons, Edelbrock performer heads, Edelbrock Accu-Drive cam gear system, and a Milodon windage tray. The original C4 tranny was buffed up with a Monster-in-aBox upgrade kit. The rear end now sports a Ford 9” with posi-track. Ground effects came from Mustang Depot and further emphasize her lowered appearance.

My Mustang passion? Showing her off and blowing the doors off of later model cars. Military passion? Not much anymore. I retired from the military in 1999 as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant.

I bought my Mustang over 17 years ago and have completely restored it as a RESTOMOD. When I was a teenager, this was the car I wanted but my family could not afford. I restored and modified the Mustang in the fashion I would have as a teenager. I’ve really enjoyed owning a Mustang as it is a very tight community and many options for outfitting and improving.

I’m a retired United States Air Force Captain, where I served as a Hospital Administrator. I started my service as an enlisted Airman, but was commissioned after receiving my Bachelor’s degree. The Service saved my life and allowed me to obtain a career after retirement for which I’ve been very successful.

I owe everything I’ve accomplished to the Medical Service Corp (MSC) as it prepared me for a career after my retirement from Service. But you never leave Service and that is true for me. I served on a Non-Profit Board which was created to help

Veterans get the services they deserve in the county I lived, in Maryland. I’ve also served on the Board, as the Member Services Coordinator, of the USAF MSC Association.

“Doc” is a 1966 Mustang Coupe equippd with a V8 302, Holley 4150 570CFM Street Avenger 4B carb, C4 transmission with Shift Package, 9” Ford small bearing rear, HEI ignition, Performance distributor, Holley high performance mechanical fuel pump, Edelbrock headers, and Be Cool aluminum radiator with electric fan. The interior has a TMI Sport II Pony interior, TMI custom center console, and red carbon fiber style headliner.

My passion and love for both military and Mustangs comes from my father who served 25 years in the Navy. Growing up we always had a different Mustang in the garage to tinker with, refurbish, or rebuild - a 64.5, 67, 67, 67, 67, 69, 71, 2007 Roush, 2011 Roush Stage 2, then a 2016 GT350, and a 2019 GT350R Mustang which he raced on the track. While working together on the cars he would tell me of places he’s seen and experienced while traveling. I learned a lot over the years working on builds with him.

I was mesmerized by the body lines and the pure power that propelled me into the back of the seat. From that day forward, I dreamed of owning and heavily modifying a Mustang of my very own. Unfortunately, growing up on a farm in Kansas didn’t yield the funds needed for such a lofty goal. Although I grew up described by many as poor, I was rich in what was important… love and support of my family. They taught me to be a servant leader and value the three “Fs” - Faith, Family, and Freedom.

After graduating high school in the late 80s, I put my beliefs to good use and joined the Air Force. Over the next 30 years, I traveled the world serving my country as a Security Forces member guided by the three “Fs.” During this time, my love of Mustangs grew. I purchased my first Mustang, a 1985 SVO, in 1988. Shortly thereafter, I began my journey into V8 power by purchasing and modifying several Foxbody Mustang GTs. One 1989 GT I owned for almost 25 years until I purchased “Punisher” in 2019 after my retirement from the Air Force. MY FIRST WHEELIE WAS AMAZING AND I’M PROUD TO SAY I STAYED IN IT!

My name is Tom Ullery. I’m a Navy Veteran and have always loved fast cars! I got into drag racing with my wife in our 50s and it’s the best hobby ever! I bought my ‘91 Foxbody as a roller and with the help of a friend, it turned into a racecar in 3 1/2 years! Road Rage is an all motor SBF with a 1150 Holly Dominator, C4 Transmission that runs 8.90 @ 151 mph. It has a newly certified 8.50 cage and all work on this car was done by professionals in the racing industry!

What started as a street/strip car quickly turned into a fast drag car. I participated in the NMCA Circuit (open comp) traveling to five different states. As a rookie, I had great success with this car and ended up in the top 16 in points out of 60 drivers! My first wheelie was amazing and I’m proud to say I stayed in it! Unfortunately, due to now being on permanent disability, I am forced to sell this amazing ride and dream car. My injuries make it difficult to maintain this type of car! I have a passion for the military and all that have served or currently serving. Unless you have served most people have any idea of the sacrifices these men and women go through to make sure you can sleep peacefully at night. Just imagine being isolated from your family for months to a year at a time with no idea how your family is doing because you are on a mission. Imagine your son or daughter playing in that championship game and you can’t be there to support them. These are just some small sacrifices. Some pay the ultimate sacrifice to make sure our country survives. I was only a small part of that sacrifice but some of my brothers and sisters paid the ultimate sacrifice after 9/11. The ultimate sacrifice might not be death, but living life with PTSD of some of those other sacrifices.

It all started early in my military career when I owned a 1983 Ford Mustang LX Convertible. It only went up from there. I’ve owned Mustangs throughout my life and have had good experiences with them. I fall for all these pretty ponies. I’ve owned a 1992 Ford Mustang GT, 1995 Ford Mustang GT, 1998 Ford Mustang GT, a 1969 Ford Mustang Coupe (351W), and my final one that I currently own is a 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. I’ve always wanted a Shelby and this was my retirement gift to myself.

Meeting other Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts is a blast, especially when I get to meet other Veterans like myself. Even my twin brother has owned a Mustang. Whether it is going to a car show, meeting up, or just talking cars, it is always fun. In 2014 I was able to run the Mustang 50th Anniversary Half Marathon where I was able to also visit Shelby Headquarters. I was like a kid in a candy store!

I have a family history in the military. My grandfather served in WWII and my dad, three uncles, and my younger sister also served. My dad was named after a General. Every day of the 29 years I served it was an honor. I was always one who liked to help others. Most of my jobs in the military were related to helping others like being a firefighter, rescue swimmer, medical, emergency management, and recruiting. After my retirement, transition was challenging but I continued to work with Veterans with various Veteran organizations and in a Veteran Treatment Court for almost five years to assist working with Veterans and mentoring

them when in need. I worked hard to help those in need, especially the Veterans. I am also involved with the local Disabled Veterans Sled Hockey Program. I have also assisted the Veteran families to honor those that have served.

My current Shelby, which is also named Shelby, is a 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Coupe with Carroll Shelby’s authentic autograph before he passed away in 2012.

A Veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check to the United States of America for an amount up to and including their life. My name is Jerry Herron and l am a service disabled Army Airborne Veteran. Mv life made a major change right out of high school. The draft was still in effect and my lottery number was 19 and I was sure to be called. I chose to be Airborne. I wanted to be one of America’s best. While going through Airborne jump school I had a Mae West and a streamer on my reserve which is a malfunction of the parachute. The impact was so severe it broke several bones in my body but I didn’t ring out - I didn’t quit. After several weeks I jumped twice more to get my “Silver Wings”.

Later in life I decided I wanted one more fast car to enjoy in my older days. I lucked upon a 2007 Roush Stage 3 Blackjack, number 33 out of 100. I found out later that this Mustang belonged to Roush Racing. Their team informed me that they would load the car on the trailer and haul it to the speedways, unload it, and Jack Roush would drive it around town for the weekend. On october 12, 2014 the 99 car of Carl Edwards and this Stage 3 BlackJack was taken out of the museum and hauled to Manchester, Ohio. At this time both cars were auctioned off for Jack Roush days. This is how this car got back in circulation and how I am now the lucky person who owns this part of history.

After several back surgeries and a neck surgery and dealing with PTSD, this car has become the car where I find my happy place. We call the car “Silver Wings”. Just like the

many soldiers of all the branches, the Airborne soldier is one of America’s best. Also just like the Mustang, we are all “American Muscle”. God bless the American soldier. Past and present.

My Mustang passion started like most others when I watched Steve McQueen rock his 1968 Fastback in Bullitt for the first time. From there I was obsessed and always dreamed of having one. In 2006, my parents had ordered a 2006 Mustang Convertible that I took care of every weekend. When I graduated high school, my parents blessed me with gifting me the Mustang. I drove and modified that car until it was totaled in 2015. That is when I found my 2013 Mustang GT and I have loved it ever since. I have met some amazing people and made even better friends because of this car. I even took my wife on our first date, so now she will never let me sell it. My wife and I have continued building this car to where it is today

I first joined the Army in 2016 in pursuit of my lifelong dream of becoming an Army officer. I went to basic training and began ROTC at North Carolina State University where I commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery Officer in 2019. I then was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC as a Platoon Leader. This position gave me the opportunity to lead some of America’s finest and make some real change in people’s lives. I have had the opportunity to grow along with them and make an impact greater than myself. In the process, I was even able to make even more friends in the military car community, some of which are some of the best friendships I have ever had. I HAVE SERVED IN THE U.S. ARMY NOW FOR ALMOST 14 YEARS...

My Mustang passion started when I was a young teenager when I got my first Mustang. It was a 1968 Mustang Coupe that was red with a vinyl top. My father bought it as a restoration project for us. We finished alot of the body work but we never finished it because I left for the Army 12 days after I graduated high school. I never had the time to finish it as I was away, but I was able to get my own Mustang in early 2020: The BULLITT.

I was shopping around for a Mustang when I came across it on the showroom floor in Nashville. The sales associate asked me if I knew about the BULLITT, which I replied that I did since I was a Mustang enthusiast. I am the first and only owner of it and love driving it.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

I have served in the U.S. Army now for almost 14 years as a Vehicle Operator and have served as a Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, and am currently an Instructor. Teaching young students to drive is a rewarding and exciting process. Experiencing the evolution of my driving style and skill has been a great journey and value sharing knowledge with the next generation, hoping they share the same passion to become the best drivers they can be.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
