Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

MY 2008 MUSTANG CALIFORNIA SPECIAL IS THE MOST FUN AND COMFORTABLE MUSTANG I HAVE OWNED.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

The Mustang was my first car at the age of 15. It was a 1968 Fastback with a 289 automatic, followed by a real 1969 Boss 302 Yellow and Black. By the time I was 18 I owned a Mustang/Cougar restoration shop. Now at the age of 63 I’ve owned over 100 Ford Mustangs, Cougars, Mavericks, and Torino cars. My 2008 Mustang California Special is the most fun and comfortable Mustang I have owned. It is absolutely amazing with the top down cruising.

If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

My 2008 Mustang California Special Convertible current mods include Ford Racing cams, Ford Racing throttle body, injectors, Pypes full stainless exhaust, 4:10 rear, racing clutch, tune, Ford Racing suspension, Billstein struts, shocks, short throw shifter, Tonneau cover, and a few other goodies.

I served proudly in the United States Army as a Chemical Specialist with Honorable Discharge.

MAISTO MADE A MODEL OF IT AND I MADE THE CAR.

My Mustang is a 2016 Premium model GT I bought new. The license plate is HDSTANG, short for Harley Davidson Mustang.

Ford was going to build a Harley Mustang like the F-150 truck but Harley wanted too much for their name and Edsel said no, but Maisto made a model of it and I made the car. It has many aftermarket parts from Ford Performance, Hurst, K&N, American Car Craft, Steeda, 3MR Suspension, Glassskinz, Flowmaster, Scott Drake, Mishimoto, etc...

I served in the USAF from 1963-67 in the 93rd Bomb Wing SAC. i was a Ground Crew Member B-52 at Castle AFB, Merced, California.

LITTLE BROTHER –2001 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE

My name is Kevin Foster and I served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1992. As a Staff Sergeant in the Security Police, I dedicated my Mustang as a military tribute because I wanted to showcase the U.S. Air Force in a positive light and provide a platform for young men and women to discuss military service in a setting they find comfortable (car shows).

I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I enjoy driving in parades, Military functions, charity rides, and participating in the many car shows here in Utah each year, most especially the Planes & Horsepower Show in Heber, UT and Peach Days Car Show in Brigham City, UT. The interaction with the other Mustang enthusiasts and my fellow Veterans is always a highlight for me!

This is my 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 3.8L purchased in 2008. It is nicknamed Little Brother after the Mustang horse in the 2004 movie “Hildalgo”. It was fully restored in 2012 with body work, paint, interior, and new top. It also has a K&N cold air intake, 70mm throttle body, upgraded ignition, upgraded dual exhaust from a single, drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads, and everything on the outside of the engine has also been replaced.

I JOINED THE MILITARY RIGHT AFTER 9/11...

I joined the military right after 9/11, as I felt it was my duty to serve my country. I met my husband in Japan, my first duty station, we were quickly married, had kids and lived in Iceland and Germany. He was medically retired in 2012 and he sadly passed away (took his life) in 2017. Shortly afterwards, I got back into Mustangs to reconnect to myself. I also started volunteering with Adopt a Soldier Platoon in Fair Lawn, NJ and attend their big gala event every year. Last year I led the Veterans in the Spartan Pledge.

My first car was a 1994 Mustang 5.0 that I loved to street race and drive around town in as a teenager. Fast forward to 2018 and I got a 2017 5.0. Loved it, but then I wanted something a little faster and more comfortable. Got a 2019 Bullitt and absolutely loved it. Took it down Tail of the Dragon on my way back from All Ford Nationals in 2021. There I met Justin Hooks, a former Marine, and we started dating and are doing great. Sold the Bullitt and bought this 2020 Mustang GT. It was his car that another shop had tore up. We took it to Parker

We just got it back, after two years, and loving every minute of driving it. I came up with the Joker/Harley Quinn wrap idea and our friend Nick with Premier Auto Styling brought it to reality. For me, my happy place and stress relief, is driving my car and listening to music. It is the best feeling in the world.

I joined the Army in 2008. I got stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington, where I was with 2nd Infantry Division 296bsb. I deployed to Iraq in late 2009, spent one year there, got back to Washington in late 2010, and immediately started training for the next deployment to Afghanistan in late 2011 where I was attached to 1/14 Cavalry Unit. We left to Zabul Afghanistan where I received the Combat Action Badge, came home, and got sent to Fort Benning GA to 3rd Infantry Division to process me out for an early retirement due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan. I got out in May 2015. I joined the military because I love my country and was proud to serve. After leaving the military, I struggled with being a civilian. The military taught me how to never give up and always push forward, but without my brothers in arms and the brotherhood I had with them, I had a hard time. I got back into cars, specifically Mustangs, as they are smooth to handle with the power they make. I’ve owned several Mustangs, from a 95 Cobra, 93

LX, 02 GT, 08 GT and this 2017. My brother, Justin Hooks, told me to call him any time I needed to talk, so I call him every day. I love working on our cars together. It truly helps me a lot. Mustangs, guns, and family make life worth living and I love living my life with them.

I found Sally in 2018 on Hanover Pike in Maryland. She was found and I immediately went to go see her and knew I would not be leaving without her. So Sally made the trip to Southern York County to her new home. Owning Sally gives me much pride and joy. I enjoy the grumble and local drives to relieve stress. Shifting the 6 speed transmission puts my mind at ease. It is certainly what one would describe as a peaceful experience. Sally the Mustang is my happy place. It brings much joy to see other’s eyes light up when they see her on the road or at a show. Sally is a part of the family. My two grandchildren love to ride in the back seats.

Sally has my blood, sweat, and tears. Long grueling hours and a title in hand during a Pandemic gave me a sense of security and relief. I could look outside and Sally would be there, just waiting for our next ride. Sally gets out on the weekends and rests up during the week. For me, weekends could not come soon enough. Numerous hours of detailing and cleaning makes her shine bright like a diamond.

I have had this car for three years now. It was originally all white. Everything was all white including the outside, inside, and top. The guy I bought it from said his dad, who had owned it since 1975, had a lot of work done to the car including new interior, new top, block, new paint job, and the drivetrain was changed from a 351 ci 2 bbl with a C6 transmission and a 2.77 rear end. He took the 351 Cobra Jet 4bbl, FMX transmission and 3.25 rear Ford 9” rear end. The mags and hexagon rear were put into the car. Lots of chrome on the engine and stainless steel around the engine compartment.

I don’t know what the paint job cost, but the guy I bought it from said that it cost about $6,000 in the can in the mid 80s when all the work was done. The guy who did the paint job also acid etched the Mustang logo on all the corners of

the windows. Guys in my car club figure the paint job alone is about a $50,000 paint job. The original owner told me his dad had put the car in numerous car shows in the Pacific Northwest. He said it won a number of trophies. The only one he can remember is that it won “Best in Show” in the Greater Vancouver Mustang Club Show in the mid 80s.

I joined the Military in 2014 after having a dead end job as a Car Salesman, valeting on the side and dropping out of college. I found a military coin on the ground and it sparked my interest in the military. My aunt knowing a recruiter, and my boss at the time (also a Marine), led one into the car dealership one day where I was working. It was a full commitment after talking to them. I met my wife shortly after joining and have been to several countries around the world, having been on three deployments.

My first car was a 2000 Mustang, which my dad traded his SUV to my cousin for, so I could have a cool car when I was in high school. I’ve always had a love for Mustangs, starting in elementary school when I had to do a project on a ‘65 Mustang. Thirteen years and 58 cars later, 7 of which have been Mustangs, I’ve finally got myself back into a 2015 Mustang.
