Trepan drilling is used for drilling holes with a diameter of 80 to 500 mm. Since only an annulus is drilled in this case, less energy is required for cutting. Drilled core can be used as well. Rough and finish boring is used for machining pre-cast or drilled holes. The requirements are met in respect to the location of the hole axis, its linearity, the accuracy of the diametrical size and surface roughness. Exhaust boring provides a more precise location of the hole axis and is also used for products requiring a uniform wall thickness. If the tolerances have to be smaller and the quality of the surface higher than the in above machining method, unrolling is additionally used.
