St. Mary’s towers taken down

Removal of the St. Mary’s Church bell towers began at about 7:45 a.m. May 27 in Melrose when notches were created on the brick on top of the towers. The towers were home to five bells, which were removed before the demolition.

Supporting seniors

After notches were created, cables, previously attached, were pulled to bring down the St. Mary’s Church south bell tower at 8:50 a.m. May 27 in Melrose. The towers stood tall since the church opened in 1899.

Xcel Energy employees reconnect electric wires May 7 after a house was moved from south of Greenwald to its new home, west of town. The house traveled about three miles from the Kris and Dale Winter farm. It was moved by Thein Moving Co.

Tri-CAP bus parade

Tri-CAP busses drive by a Melrose day care May 14 telling the children they miss them as passengers either in voice or on the signs on their busses. Some families utilize the bus service to get their children to day care and school on a regular basis. The parade of busses traveled all around Melrose thanking their passengers.
