You left behind some aching hearts that loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will forget you Father dear. We want to give our most sincere thanks to all our relatives and friends who have prayed and keep praying for us in this time of sorrow in the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend that Jose was to all of us. A larva, in due time, enters a pupa or “resting” stage, during which it develops into an adult wasp, emerges, digs its way out, flys off and the cycle repeats itself. The life cycle is called complete metamorphosis. I’ve often watched tarantula Hawks flying about the ranch where I liveo. Their body is velvety black with a blue sheen. The wings are orange to red-orange with narrow black borders. The shape is like most wasps you’ve seen. I warn you to keep a safe distance from any tarantula Hawks you see. The sting from a tarantula hawk has been found to be the most painful sting of any insect! I assume you have no desire for firsthand experience. While their life cycle involves some gruesome episodes, tarantula Hawks are an interesting part of our Tamaulipan wildlife diversity.

After some research, I’ve learned that the tarantula was still alive after being stung and paralyzed by the wasp. After placing its prey in a burrow, a tarantula hawk lays a single egg inside the spider and
scratches some dirt to close the entrance. Later the egg hatches and the wasp larva feasts on the interior of the still living spider leading of course to the spider’s eventual death. While tarantulas are their favorite prey for feeding the larvae, other insects and spiders are taken as opportunity provides. I must note that adults drink nectar from flowers!

Dear Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the past I have asked for favors. This time I ask you this very special one (mention favor). Take it, Dear Jesus, and place it within your own heart, where your Father sees it. Then, in your merciful eyes it will become your favor, not mine. Amen. Say this prayer for three days, promise publication and favor will be granted. Never known to fail.
