7TH ANNUAL VETERAN’S MEMORIAL 5K RACE Saturday, November 14th, beginning at 8 am Fayetteville National Cemetery • 700 S. Government Blvd., Fayetteville Sponsors will provide shirts and goodie bags to all runners. Awards and prizes will be presented to the top overall overall male and female runners and to the top 3 male and female runners in each age group. Entry fee is $25 for early registrations, $30 day of race. Proceeds from the 5K Race (from sponsors and entry fees) will go a long way in helping the RNCIC to continue to purchase more land necessary to keep the cemetery open for new internments. The purpose of the 5K Race is to raise funds for the RNCIC, a non-profit, 501©3 organization, to purchase and clear land adjacent to the Fayetteville National Cemetery. The land is then given to the Veterans Administration (VA) to ensure that the cemetery can continue to receive veterans for burial.

2015 ROY WATKINS MEMORIAL TRAIL RIDE Hosted by the Japton Volunteer Fire Department. Japton Community Park, Saturday, October 24, 2015. Trail Ride and Hay Ride leaves park at 10am. No stud horses please! Meal served at 3 pm. Choice of a burger or hotdog with sides and drink, furnished by “Today’s Bank�. Meal only: $5.00 per person. Trail Ride: $10 per person (includes meals. $40 max for a family. Hay Ride: (includes meal). $8.00 person. $32 max for a family. Poker Run: $10 per hand. Half of the entry fees go as a donation to the Japton VFD. Half of the fees become the pot and goes to the top three hands.
