Electra Heart Lyric Book Redesign

"I was starting to think about our Tumblr generation, and how photos appear on Tumblr and people become almost like mini-stars of the internet, and you don't know who the hell they are - they're just anonymous faces. So I started to take photos, and make an effort to look completely different in each one, in different hotels and apartments all across America when I was travelling. And it just started to build from that. It was more the prima donna archetype at the beginning, really; I was reading a lot of books like Hollywood Babylon, focusing more on the gossipy, suicidal side of the '30s and '40s in Hollywood. That's how it started, and then it grew into a real project."

"Electra Heart is the antithesis of everything that I stand for. And the point of introducing her and building a whole concept around her is that she stands for the corrupt side of American ideology, and basically that's the corruption of yourself. My worst fear—that's anyone's worst fear—is losing myself and becoming a vacuous person. And that happens a lot when you're very ambitious."

"I wanted to create this fictional character who was everything I was not, I wanted to be a strong, cold-hearted person. I feel like girls who are bitches always get the guy and never get hurt, ’cause that’s what we think! I wanted to create a character that allowed me to be like that."

S U- BA RB IE -A

The Su-Barbie-A archetype is a model female representative of the all-perfect American housewife and the general concept of fake perfection. she is a loving mother and wife who sets all of her ambition and potential aside to stay loyal to her family. This is killing her from the inside, as she can't accept the fact that she's stuck in the suburbs forever. She has to deal with a marriage that was never really right for her, however she is too kind and caring to even think of leaving her family. With nothing else to do, she faces the fact that her world is falling apart with a smile, like everyone expects from her.

The Primadonna is a vain, self-centered and snobbish archetype that lives her life receiving gifts, being adored, and tending to her appearance. The Primadonna is a very ambitious individual that is desperate for fame and wealth, and seems to barely care about anyone whilst she climbs her way up to the top. She would rather do her makeup and/or try on a new dress than do any good for someone other than herself.

H OM EW RE CKER The Homewrecker archetype is stylised as a deceptive woman. She takes on this trait in order to not be caught and/ or held accountable for her actions. She does not keep relationships and moves on when she is finished having her fun. She does not belong to anyone and is a very lonely archetype. The Homewrecker does in fact want to be able to hold relationships however, but realizes that, due to her past, this is impossible and continues to romance married men.

A "Teen Idol" is a celebrity or other form of personality that is well-known and popular among teenage groups. Traditionally, a Teen Idol is a famous figure known for being a musician or actor, but they can also be locally well-known teenagers who are popular within their schools and societies.

However, Teen "Idle" is the opposite of this. She is portrayed as a teen with many regrets and a longing to be popular. she constantly contradicts herself and is split between the person she thinks she is, the person she wants to be, and other ideals she looks up to. She represents many struggles that teenagers face, including drinking, sexuality, self-respect and confidence. The Teen Idle is one of the most broken archetypes.

Every boyfriend is the one until otherwise proven The good are never easy the easy never good And loving never happens like you think it really should Deception and perfection are wonderful traits One will breed love, the other, hate You’ll find me in the lonely hearts Under ‘I’m after a brand new start’ And They

You’re never gonna love me, so what’s the use What’s the point in playing a game you’re gonna lose What’s the point in saying you love me like a friend? What’s the point in saying it’s never gonna end You’re too proud to say that you’ve made a mistake You’re a coward ‘til the end I don’t wanna admit, but we’re not gonna fit No, I’m not the type that you like Why don’t we just pretend? C H O R U S L i e s don’t wanna know, don’t wanna know I can’t let you go, can’t let you go I just want it to be perfect To believe it’s all been worth the fight L i e s don’t wanna know, don’t wanna know You only ever touch me In the dark Only if we’re drinking can you see my spark And only in the evening could you give yourself to me ‘Cause the night is your woman and she’ll set you free You’re too proud to say that you’ve made a mistake You’re a coward ‘til the end I don’t wanna admit, but we’re not gonna fit No, I’m not the type that you like Why don’t we just pretend? Millions of girls float on their one quote Living on their last hope, on their last hope

You’re hard to hug, tough to talk to And I never fall asleep when you’re in my bed, All you give me is a heartbeat I’ve turned into a statue AND IT makes me feel depressed ‘Cause the only time you open up is when we get undressed You I’ll You I’ll

It almost feels like a joke to play out the part When you are not the starring role in someone else’s heart You know I’d rather walk alone Than play a supporting role If I can’t get the starring role C h o r u s Sometimes I ignore you so I feel in control ‘Cause really, I adore you, and I can’t leave you alone Fed up with the fantasies, thAT cover what is wrong C’MON baby, let’s just get drunk forget we don’t get on You’RE like my dad, You’D get on well I send my best Regards from hell C

Rule number one, is that you gotta have fun But baby when you’re done you gotta be the first to run You are the lonely one and only Body in the world Who can make me, who can break me Down into a young girl You say that love is not that easy And that’s the lesson that you teach me So hypocritical, overly cynical I’m sick and tired of all your preaching Who are you to tell me Who to be? You’re my last bone of contention That could break at any mention You’re the last wall that will stand tall ‘Til the end of the world I know you only want to own me And that’s the kind of love you show me You tell me one thing and do another Keep all your secrets under cover Who are you to tell me Who to be? you let go of me Yeah you played the martyr for so long That you can’t do anything wrong Who are you to tell me Who to be? Yeah, you let go of me Who are you to tell me who to be?

Rule number two, just don’t get attached to Somebody you could lose So le-lemme tell you c h o r u s This is how to be a heartbreaker Boys they like a little danger We’ll get him falling for a stranger, A player, singing I lo-lo-love you How to be a heartbreaker Boys they like a little danger We’ll get him falling for a stranger, A player, singing I lo-lo-love you At least I think I do Rule number three, wear your heart on your cheek But never on your sleeve, unless you wanna taste defeat Rule number four, gotta be looking pure Kiss him goodbye at the door and leave him wanting more, more This is how to be a heartbreaker Boys they like a little danger We’ll get him falling for a stranger, A player, singing I lo-lo-love you How to be a heartbreaker Boys they like the look of danger We’ll get him falling for a stranger, A player, singing I lo-lo-love you At least I think I do Girls, ‘Cause our So can’t In c

Lying on a fake beach You’ll never get a tan Baby I’m gonna leave you drowning, until you reach for my hand

I’ve lived a lot of different lives Been different people many times I live my life in bitterness And fill my heart with emptiness

In the night your heart is full and by the morning empty But baby I’m the one who left you, you’re not the one who left me

And now I see, I see it for the first time There is no crime in being kind Not everyone is out to screw you over Maybe, oh just maybe they just wanna get to know you

C H O R U S When you’re around me, I’m radioactive My blood is burning radioactive I’m turning radioactive My blood is radioactive My heart is nuclear Love is all that I feel I’m turning radioactive My blood is radioactive

and Now the time is here Baby, you don’t have to live your life in fear And the sky is clear, Is clear of fear c h o r u s Don’t wanna live in fear and loathing I wanna feel like I am floating Instead of constantly exploding In fear and loathing

Waiting for the night fall for my heart to light up Oh baby I want you to die for for you to die for my love

Got different I wonder which I’m done with And endin’ up

In the night your heart is full and by the morning empty But baby I’m the one who left you you’re not the one who left me

And now the time is here Baby you don’t have to live your life in fear And the sky is clear, Is clear of fear, Of fear C
