Balance Sheet: There was an increase of about $4K. The following is the breakdown by area:  Monthly Operations -$2.9K (explained below)  Moms Morning Off $1.2K (explained below)  Other (mostly Funds) $5.4K Significant activity from funds were as follows; Copier Fund (-$936), Building Fund ($1.5K), Columbarium Fund ($4K), Endowment Fund (+$.5K), and the Rector Discretionary Fund ($.5K).

Monthly Operations: Income for the month was under budget by $1.3K and expenses over budget by $2K making the net for the month a negative $2.9K. Lower October pledge income versus budget was the key to lower income for the month. The over budget expense(s) for the month were in outreach for the Jeanie

Miley Seminar ($1.6K) and a Reverend Discretionary Expense ($1K).

On a YTD basis, income is over budget by $.9K and expenses are over budget by $4.6K. As of the end of October, income is greater than expenses.

MMO: MMO had a surplus for the month of $1.2K. It’s another positive month for MMO. Enrollment is higher than was used to budget and will continue at that rate for the rest of the year. On a YTD basis, MMO is a positive $.6.7K. Fall enrollment is at 34 children with 10 teachers, this means everything is running at close to full capacity.

Nominating Committee Report: Several church members have already committed to standing for vestry in the January elections. Jim Spruiell, Sr. Warden, reminds each committee to follow the vetting procedures for each nominee.

Vickie Luckenbach will be responsible for counting the money in December.

Each vestry member is asked to use the Reply to All tab after reading the emailed copy of the vestry minutes with approval or additions/corrections to the vestry minutes. Doing this will allow all vestry members to know of any changes to the vestry minutes. This comes after last month’s discussion of not knowing any additions or corrections to vestry minutes. Vestry members are also asked to respond within 24 to 36 hours.

Routine Work: The dimmer switch for one set of lights in the Chapel was replaced.

Electricians from Itz Electric replaced four light bulbs over the organ in the Sanctuary. LED bulbs were installed with the hope that they last much longer than incandescent bulbs.

On the same trip to replace the bulbs in the Sanctuary, Itz electricians also replaced the “savethe-sky” light fixture on the northwest corner of the Parish Hall with a double flood light fixture to light up the corner of the parking lot. Reports are that these do a fairly good job of lighting up the dark parking lot.

The lock on the kitchen door failed repeatedly during the past month – so many times that it was not reprogrammed the last time and was left in the default mode. It was replaced with a new unit Thursday, the 12th of November and programmed the next day. We can now use our assigned codes to get in that door. The defective lock was returned to the representative and is to be examined by AlarmLock. Hopefully they can determine what caused it to fail.

The kitchen air conditioning unit failed prior to the turkey dinner (funny thing – it also failed the last time Mike Wuest cooked for us). This time, it was discovered that fire ants had gotten into the compressor contactor causing it to fail.

Future Work: The only outstanding project is the balcony rail which is on hold until after the first of the year.

Fr. Jeff reported that the new Outreach Committee will meet on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 5:00 p.m.

Fr. Jeff informed the vestry that the new priest has been chosen and he has accepted. He is at another church in another diocese. There is a plan for him to inform his current church of his decision. We may know by the next vestry meeting. He has 14 years of experience, and has a young family. Fr. Jeff especially wants him to be the point person for new members.
