Balance Sheet: There was an increase of about $10K, but it was mostly due to StB monthly operations ($11K explained below) and MMO ($6K explained below) and expenses from the other funds. Significant activity from other funds were as follows; Copier Fund (-$880), Building Fund (-$3.2K), Benevolence Fund (-$2K), Daughters of the King Fund (+$.8K), Dugat MMO scholarship Fund (+$1K), and Rector Discretionary Fund (+$1.5K).

Monthly Operations: Income for the month was greater than budgeted by $3.4K and expenses were under budget by $7K making the net for the month a positive $11K. Pledge income higher by $4.7K for the month.

Lower personnel expenses for the month were about $3.4K and when coupled with other areas that were under budget by $3.6K the total under budget was $7K. This under budget for the month will not continue into next month as it is a three Vestry Minutes

payroll period month.

On a YTD basis, income is over budget by $4K and expenses are under budget by $3K. YTD income less expense is $10K versus a YTD budget of +$3K. MMO: MMO had a surplus for the month of $5.6K. This is because MMO collected fees for September and had minimal personnel expenses for the month.

On a YTD basis, MMO is a positive $.4.8K. Next month income versus expenses will probably be negative as it is a 3 payroll month. Fall enrollment is at 36 children with 10 teachers, this means everything is running at full capacity.

Other Item: The annual audit was completed in August. The Audit Committee for this year was comprised of Beverly Carnes, Molly Martin, and Lorri Kendrick.

We thank them for volunteering and they have agreed to do it again next year. We will be looking for others the following year as well as one person (at least) to participate with them to improve the continuity on the audit committee from year to year.

The September vestry meeting was held one week Discussion ahead of normal schedule. The Senior Warden and Fr. Jeff felt it important to inform and receive total vestry support for the Rector’s proposal before going forward. The Rector presented a plan to bring more depth and meaning to the services available to our parish community. Fr. Jeff discussed his plan to add depth to our worship, pastoral care, Christian education, church leadership development and to increase the overall number of parish members who participate in our church activities. The first part of the plan has already been implemented; the realignment of several committees and the beginning of a new visioning committee. The Ministry’s Committee initiative of “Every One Belongs” has also been launched and is moving to accomplish inclusion and participation in parish membership.

landscaping supplies and equipment was delivered and set; skirting was installed around the building; shelving (previously purchased) and tool hanging clips installed and all materials moved into the building. The playground fence was modified to conform to the building. This project is complete.

The small log cabin in the playground area has been cleaned out and is being used by MMO to store their outside toys.

Met with electricians from Itz Electric regarding power outages in the office and class room area. A loose ground connection somewhere is suspected of causing the outages that cause power in various rooms to go off and then come back on. The electricians were unable to locate any loose connections and indicated that we should contact them the next time the power goes off so they can return, see exactly which circuits are affected and trace out the wires to find the problem. Note: If anyone experiences any power outage in the Parish Hall, they should call Itz Electric and notify them so they can return and investigate.

Future Work: 1. I am still awaiting Dartez Brothers Contractors to remove a few boards from the underside of the balcony so the actual construction of the existing balcony rail can be seen. They are short of personnel at this time.

2. Itz Electric has been requested to recommend what lights are required in the parking lot.

This plan coincides with the beginning stages of the 2016 budget development and stewardship campaign. Fr. Jeff will meet with the Stewardship Committee to inform them of the plan to add an additional full time staff member.

The vestry happily and excitedly accepted this new plan of an additional priest who would help form a deeper relationship in the parish and community.
