“Regular donations really can make a difference. If 500 families were to give £20 a month, an incredible £120,000 would be generated every year.” Andrew Johnson, Headmaster

B R I G H T E N I N G “The acquisition of floodlights at the Games Field will further enhance the excellent provision available for our pupils at Perivale, especially during late autumn, winter, and early spring when daylight hours are shorter. Games sessions and other co-curricular activities will be able to continue beyond the end of the normal school day, and pupils and staff will take full advantage of fabulous facilities such as the full-sized field hockey pitch, the cricket nets and the hard court area. Sports can give the children so much pleasure, enabling them to learn more about themselves, as well as being an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.” Mr Rob Simmons Junior School Headmaster “For the past 10 years I have had the privilege to witness the St Benedict’s Sports Programme grow and develop. The floodlights would have a huge impact and create greater opportunities for all pupils to continue their development in sport. During the winter months, games lessons and after school fixtures are limited owing to the lack of light. The introduction of floodlights would allow the school to broaden the Sports Programme and increase sports participation for pupils throughout the school by providing additional practice time and fixtures.” Mrs Ali Yates Head of Junior School Sport 4 | St Benedict’s School | W: stbenedicts.org.uk

“Speaking as an Old Priorian, OPRFC coach and St Benedict’s coach, floodlights would have an incredible impact on sport throughout the whole of the St Benedict’s community. The ability for the School to be able to coach after school would have a great effect on our sports pupils, in particular our Girls’ Hockey and Netball, who often travel off-site for extra training. For the OPRFC, it would give us the opportunity to train in the evenings with a fully-lit playing area. This would greatly enhance our ability to train as well as make it a more enjoyable rugby club to train at.” Mr Myles Stringer (OP 06) Head of Strength and Conditioning, and Athletic Development

“St Benedict’s has a strong tradition of rugby and is well known for its sporting successes over the years, including national cup titles. Floodlights would enable all pupils to access further opportunities to train and develop which will allow us to uphold St Benedict’s strong sporting reputation.”
“The installation of floodlights will be transformative for Netball. We will be able to train the girls for longer and the floodlights will enable us to use the facilities at Perivale to their full potential.” Miss Betsy Willey Head of Netball
Mr James Coles Director of Rugby "The Old Priorian Rugby Club has become a key part of the Old Priorian and St Benedict's communities. Now competing at Level 6, the league below the National leagues, the OPs are fortunate enough to call Perivale our home for training and matches. The installation of floodlights at Perivale would make a huge difference for the club, allowing us to train in a space that is more realistic to the demands of a Saturday match and provide the opportunity to train and recruit more effectively."
“Securing floodlights at Perivale is an absolute must! Whilst Cricket does have good natural light, the floodlights would enable us to practise earlier in the year and in a space more suited to cricket. The floodlights will also facilitate more coach contact time which will further our pupils’ development in sports.”
Edd Conway (OP 05) OPRFC Director of Rugby

“The installation of floodlights will massively enhance the provision and quality of hockey at St Benedict’s School. We currently use the Astroturf pitch for after-school training sessions. These sessions stop after October half-term due to the lack of light. The introduction of floodlights would enable us to train outdoor from October all the way through to March.” Mr Jas Nijhar Head of Hockey
