GIVING TO SCHOLARSHIPS 2024

PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES

A St Catherine’s Education

St Catherine’s School has a proud tradition of providing deserving young women the opportunity to receive a St Catherine’s education through our Scholarship Fund.

In 2024, opportunities for members of our School community to make a personal commitment to supporting our School’s Scholarship Fund are available. Through the cumulative generosity of our donors an accessible pool of scholarship funds supports all aspects of an exceptional learning experience for young women.

St Catherine’s Scholarship Fund plays a pivotal role in supporting these young women by annually providing partial or full support, alleviating financial stress, and strengthening their academic journey. Through the combined generosity of donors, the Scholarship Fund establishes a vital resource that supports a holistic learning experience, especially for those who would otherwise be unable to experience a St Catherine’s education.

Our Scholarship Fund provides flexibility of choice for donors, recognising that some donors prefer to support the journey of one student entirely, whilst others become part of scholarship syndicates supporting students for their Senior School tuition. Every contribution makes a difference, providing crucial financial support to enable students to achieve their personal best.

When you make a gift to St Catherine’s School’s Scholarship Fund, at any level, you make a direct impact on the lives of our scholarship students and enrich our diverse School community.

As a School we are so grateful for the generosity shown by our past and present donors. We invite you to learn more about our Scholarship Fund provided within this publication.

TRADITION & IMPACT A Focus On Scholarships

The profound impact of your generosity to St Catherine’s Scholarship Fund is both tangible and immediate. Your contribution will open doors of opportunity to exceptional students, enabling St Catherine’s School to continue fostering a talented and diverse community.

The success of our Scholarship Fund relies on the continuous philanthropic dedication of our donors, both past and present. Your ongoing commitment serves as the bedrock upon which dreams are realised and futures are transformed.

We welcome scholarship donations throughout the entire year and extend an

invitation to meet with you to discuss how you can assist advancing our Scholarship Fund.

I hope you will join other patrons who have embraced the opportunity to become a part of the philanthropic force that is driving girls’ education at St Catherine’s. Your gift makes a real difference, every day, for every scholarship recipient.

RURAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Realising Dreams

“Boarding students bring an extraordinary and unique culture to St Catherine’s, adding a wholesome cultural layer of community.”

Mr Robert Marshall, Interim Principal Rural Scholarships empower students from regional and remote Australia to receive access to an exceptional education at St Catherine’s School. As a School, St Catherine’s has always valued the diversity of experience regional boarding students have provided to our vibrant community over many years. Many of these regional students attended St Catherine’s through our Rural Scholarship opportunities.

In 2024, St Catherine’s School is further highlighting our Rural Scholarships to perpetuate the enduring legacy of our vibrant boarding community, and honour former Head of Boarding, Mrs Sue Collister who sadly passed away earlier this year.

St Catherine’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for regional and remote young women has invigorated and strengthened our community and provided exceptional learning opportunities and career pathways for many deserving Rural Scholarship recipients. As a School, we continue to encourage rural-based students to consider boarding at St Catherine’s, and continue Sue’s legacy and commitment to rural students.

Embedded in the roots of our Rural Scholarship Fund is a legacy of philanthropy that continues to shape our strategic vision and future planning. As we look to the future philanthropy’s role remains pivotal in ensuring St Catherine’s School continues to provide access to education for regional and remote young women from across Australia. By supporting a Rural Scholarship, you are not only investing in education for rural students but also in the enrichment and evolution of a vibrant and diverse learning community within St Catherine’s.

“I was 10 when I first met Sue, in her capacity as Director of Boarding. I was shy and nervous and quite honestly petrified to start as the only Year 7 boarder the following year at Illawarra, which was to be my home for the following six years. What followed was the most wonderful and nurturing experience – absolutely core to my success later in life. My experience boarding under Sue’s supervision has shaped me into the woman I am today. She taught me, lectured me, supported me, encouraged me, and raised me like her own.”
