In the five-hour seminar, students will learn strategies for using partial knowledge to eliminate wrong choices, tips for improving in all four sub tests (English, Math, Reading and Science), tactics for using limited testing time and take shortened practice tests that mirror the actual testing experience. This class aims to reduce test anxiety and help students gain confidence. Participants will receive a comprehensive Study guide and 24 practice test workouts with detailed answer explanations. They’ll also receive suggestions for individualized study in the days leading up to the test. My Little Horse Camp

Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet several different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Camps are held rain or shine. There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes sneakers or boots (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers, depending on weather. ASTM/SEI certified helmets provided and required to be worn. Baby Bobbers (Ages 6-24 mos.)
Designed to orient your child (accompanied by parent) to better prepare them for swim lessons. Parents will learn safety information and techniques to help your child feel comfortable in the water. This class provides a bonding experience for parents and their children. Class limit: 12.
Toddler Time (Ages 2-3 yrs.)
Designed to orient your toddler (accompanied by parent) to better prepare them for preschool swim lessons. Toddler will learn to ease the transition from parent to instructor and become more comfortable with their skills and surroundings. Skills we will start focusing on are safety, kicking, paddle, floats and underwater exploration. Class limit: 12.
Beginner Preschool (Ages 3-4 yrs.)
Skills taught include safety topics, water adjustments, kicking, floating with support, front and back paddle, breath control and completely submerging. Parents do not need to get into the water with their child. Class limit: 4.
Advanced Preschool (Ages 3-4 yrs.)
Skills taught include safety topics, front and back paddle, kicking, treading water and advance breath control. The goal in this class is to perform each skill unassisted. Parents do not need to get into the water with their child. Class limit: 4.
Private Lessons for Adults/Children
These lessons are 25 minutes long and meet 8 times. Private lessons are designed to give any participant the individualized attention necessary in order to improve or master swimming skills. Together, the instructor, participant and/or parent, determine the goals for the session and the curriculum is customized to meet your goals. Private lessons cost $95.
Adult Water/Swim Lesson (Ages 18 & Up)
These small group lessons are designed to give any participant the semi-individualized attention necessary in order to improve or master water comfort or swimming skills. Together, the instructor and participants determine the goals for the session and the curriculum is customized in order to meet those goals. Women’s session open to women only. Men’s session open to men only. Class limit: 10.

WHEN TO REGISTER
Registration for classes is open upon receipt of the catalog. Online registration announcements will be made available at www.isd742.org/CommunityEd.
CLASS CONFIRMATION
Unless we contact you, assume the course is held at the time and place indicated and that you are registered.
CANCELLATIONS
• Complete refund is given if a class is canceled or filled.
• A $5 cancellation fee plus direct expenses (materials, transportation, ticket and/or other class costs) will be charged if participants cancel a class within five working days and up to 24 hours prior to class.
• Classes canceled less than 24 hours in advance will not be refunded.
• A $5/15 minute late pick-up fee is due upon pick-up.
• For Project Challenge ticketed events such as plays and sporting events/ games, refunds will not be issued if a class participant requests a cancellation once the registration deadline has passed (if one is indicated in the class description).
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
If participants are not 100% satisfied with a class, they can contact the Community Education Main Office at 320-370-8200 and we will gladly address your concerns.
SCHOOL CLOSINGS
If school closes during the day due to bad weather, Community Education will cancel all activities. Announcements are made on the District 742 website and local radio stations.
BE AN INSTRUCTOR
District 742 Community Education instructors are employed because they have a special skill or expertise they are willing to share with the community.

TRIPS & OUTINGS
All pick up times listed indicate the time the bus/van leaves that location. It takes some time to board the bus and secure wheelchairs so we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the departure time.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
If you are eligible to receive financial assistance, it will consist of 50% off per class up to a $20 max per participant per catalog. You must be a resident of District 742 to qualify. Verification required. If you are a member of UCare Minnesota, contact Community Education for information regarding partial fee reimbursement.
