Christ Brings hope GREEN BAY Relevant Radio awards Fr. Alfred McBride with the Christ Brings Hope Award in Green Bay, on the Feast of St. Joseph with over 350 attendees. Excellence in Communication Award Chuck Neff, host of The Inner Life™, is named recipient of the 2016 Archbishop Robert J. Carlson Excellence in Communication Award. The Archbishop Carlson Excellence in Communication Award “is a way for the Archdiocese of St. Louis to recognize the important role of the media and communication professionals in our local community as they work to inspire positive change in response to the significant issues facing our society today,” said the Archdiocese of St. Louis in a press release. In 2014, Relevant Radio On CallTM show host Wendy Wiese received the same award.

´ Poland Krakow, Relevant Radio keeps you up to date on World Youth Day, July 26-31, 2016, in Kraków, Poland. An estimated 3 million people attended. Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help receives national designation On Aug. 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, the Most Reverend David Ricken announces that the U.S. Bishops formally designated the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion as a national shrine. Christ Brings Hope Award in three major markets! Relevant Radio hosts three Christ Brings Hope Award Dinners in October, honoring Mother Agnes Mary Donovan in New York/New Jersey, the Little Sisters of the Poor in Chicago, and the Most Reverend Thomas J. Tobin in Providence.

Catholic Radio Organizations Plan to Unite Relevant Radio and Immaculate Heart Radio announce their intention to merge, changing the name of the parent company, Starboard Media Foundation, to Immaculate Heart Media. The new Relevant Radio network will broadcast inspirational radio programs reaching 133 million souls in 15 of the top 50 markets, including the four largest markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Additionally, all programs will be live-streamed and available on podcast through multiple internet platforms including websites, mobile apps, and social media portals. The Jubilee Year of Mercy comes to a close November 20, the Feast of Christ the King, marks the conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. During this Year of Mercy, Pope Francis asked the faithful to be open to God’s mercy and be “merciful like the Father.” The Jubilee Year of Fatima, which celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima, begins on November 27.

Letter from Rev. Francis J. Hoffman What a year! We give thanks to God, the source of all good things, for blessing Relevant Radio so abundantly in 2016. In October, we shared big news (fantastic news!) that Relevant Radio and Immaculate Heart Radio plan to merge into one Catholic radio organization, allowing us to work together to reach ever more souls with the Good News. Since that announcement, we have been working diligently to unite our two organizations and have made great progress in combining best practices. Thank you for your support and prayers during this process—the fruit that comes from these efforts will be immeasurable.

In May of 2016, we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Eucharistic Adoration at the Relevant Radio Chapel of the Nativity. This was a big milestone for the organization; without prayer and adoration, we could not do what we do each day—it is what keeps us on the air. We pray daily for our listeners’ and supporters’ intentions before the Blessed Sacrament, and it is such an honor that we are entrusted with hundreds of thousands of prayer intentions each year. We are thankful for all the improvements we have made over the past year to bring you an even better website, app, and social media experience. We began broadcasting the daily Mass LIVE on my Facebook page in April of 2016 and are able to bring the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to thousands of people all over the globe who do not have access to the sacraments. Throughout 2016, it was our delight to be able to accompany you through all the events happening in the Church and the world, including the Jubilee Year of Mercy, World Youth Day, and the canonization of Mother Teresa!
