Joy of the Risen Christ Dear Relevant Radio Family, We are approaching the most holy and joyful season of the Church calendar: the season of Easter, the celebration of the Paschal Mystery. We take this time to reflect on all that Our Lord has done for us, that He died out of love for us to save us from our sins. We must contemplate how we in turn can spread His message and love to all people. Whether it is with the spoken or written word or a just simple smile, we must spread the joy that comes from the Risen Christ. At Relevant Radio, we are able to spread Christ's message far and wide, using the most cost-effective method to evangelize as many people as we can, and you are helping us. It is only because of you and God's Mercy, that we are able to spread the Good News of the Risen Lord. Your support, both prayerful and financial, is doing marvels for so many and is helping to obtain conversions and increase faith, of which the effects are infinite! Thank you for partnership. On behalf of everyone at Relevant Radio, I wish you a most joyful and Blessed Easter! With prayers,

Tom Vorpahl Chief Executive Officer

Celebrate the Season in Spiritual Style How can we be an Easter People?

SPRING 2010 ON THE DIAL

3. Make a special Easter meal that has several courses. Nothing makes us feel so important as a formal family meal around the table, using the best dishware you have! 4. If you don't have one already, hang a crucifix in a prominent place in your home and let it remind you of how Christ conquered sin and death by his own death, and that the Resurrection is the happy ending to all suffering! 5. Meditate on heaven everyday, realizing that our daily trials and sufferings will result in our own resurrection and will gain us heaven, our future home!

John Paul II said, "Do not abandon yourselves to despair" and then quoted St. Augustine, "We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song." In the Early Church, we were called the "Easter People." What does that mean to be an "Easter People"? Basically it means that our faith is entirely based on the Paschal Mystery of Christ's death and resurrection. To put it candidly: were it not for the Resurrection, our faith is useless. But Our Lord did rise and triumph, and our faith is real! Our Lord, in rising from the dead, showed his divinity and power over death and sin. It is precisely because of the Resurrection that Good Friday receives its glory. That also means that we must live this Resurrection as we battle our daily trials, inconveniences, and sufferings, living with hope of our own resurrection in Christ! Being an Easter People means that even if we suffer, we are a joyful people! Let us repeat often: "Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song." Things we can do to be an Easter People: 1. Attend all the Triduum celebrations (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter) to immerse yourself in the spirit and meaning of Holy Week and Easter. After all, there is no Easter without Good Friday! 2. Attend Mass on Easter Sunday (or the Vigil Mass the night before) with as many members of your family as possible, and dress up special to make the day feel as important as it is! It's like a wedding day!

6. Make every Sunday a mini-Easter as a family by dressing up to go to Mass, having a special meal, and enjoying each other's company. This will strengthen your family and help you truly to become an Easter People year-round!

Prayer Focus: Divine Mercy The Divine Mercy Novena begins Good Friday, April 2, 2010, in preparation for the great Feast of Divine Mercy celebrated on April 11, 2010, the first Sunday after Easter. The Divine Mercy Novena was specially dictated by Our Lord Himself to Saint Faustina, with a particular intention to be prayed for each day while praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Powerful graces are granted to those who participate in the Divine Mercy devotion, especially those who receive the Sacrament of Penance and receive Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday. You are highly encouraged to take advantage of these powerful gifts and graces of mercy that Our Lord is bestowing on us! For more information on the Divine Mercy Devotion, go to http://thedivinemercy.org/ The prayers of the Chaplet can be found HERE: The prayers of the Novena can be found HERE: Tune in each weekday and pray the Chaplet with Relevant Radio at 3pm CT!
