Gervasuti Foundation Venice - London’s mission is focused on an innovative experimental and educational ‘Preservation -Through-Change’ Project sustaining the uniquely inventive and rich cultural traditions of Venetian history through the promotion and production of interdisciplinary contemporary art practice. The J Bar - Closing events take place at the J Bar, the latest incarnation of the Gervasuti Foundation’s unique venue for dance, workshops, seminars, screenings and art events. Each year an artist has been invited to design a concept bar for the Foundation. This year, for the first time, the bar project has been linked to a curatorial project by resident curator, Mike Watson, and the Joan of Art project. The J Bar has been crucial to the cultural context and party life of Venice, welcoming locals alongside Biennale workers, artists and local craftsmen. It has been the home to Joan of Art providing a space for reflection and conversation on the themes of education and ecology for the duration of the Biennale. Special thanks to: European Alternatives, MACAO, Nomas Foundation, SaLE Docks, The Gallery Apart.

he Gervasuti Foundation and Joan of Art are proud to present: ibis redibis III: ‘The Venice Process’ - Closing Party. Initiated during the residency programme at the Gervasuti Foundation, The Venice Process is an on-going project which aims to offer an alternative education and accreditation system through a network of international art institutions. This theory-driven process has evolved from the Joan of Art Project Towards A Free Education System established by its curator Mike Watson at Nomas Foundation, Rome, and through the collaboration with the first national representation of the Maldives Pavilion and the Gervausti Foundation on the occasion of the 55th Venice Biennale. The Venice Process has included performances, seminars and workshops which have taken place over the duration of the Biennale, culminating in the creation of a free course in art and ecology and the presentation of the current programme of events focused on the theme of ecology and alternative education.
