K TO SCHOOL AND FALL BEGINS!!
Technology Now By Stephanie Maxwell-Robles
Technology. If you are not up On the latest and the greatest that is being offered and developed in terms of technology, clearly, you are being left behind. From cellular phones, to smart TV's, to Coding, to Apps, to specialized components that can be geared towards anything and everything. These devices can be activated with just the touch of a finger and lets not forget, or even your voice. Technology makes the world go round, and as "creatures of comfort" we love anything that is amazing, cool, spectacular to look at, as well as work with, and also makes our lives easier, right? I know that I do. In actuality, advances in technology is how I am bringing this magazine to
you. However, the fact of the matter is. that as a Christian, technology should never be "driving" us, we should be driving technology. Well someone might ask, "what do you mean by that?" Well, what I mean by that is that as Christians, it is certainly okay for us to admire, like and use technology to make our lives easier and more operable. After all, isn't that the reason why God gave someone the ability to consider a need, and the ability to develop a means to address that need? However, again, as Christians, we should be clear about the fact that our lives, our very essence and our beings do not revolve around technology. Some, as evidenced by every arena of our consumer ladened, capitalistic and wealth-driven society even
try to establish a claim to self-worth or self-value based up the type of device or kind of technology you posses based upon who it's made by and how much it cost. For example, you may not be considered a "heavy hitter " by some if you have a regular or generic brand of a product for a lesser dollar amount than compared to a name-brand, top dollar item when realistically, they pretty much do the same thing. We must shift our focus away from anything that does not allow us to be our absolute best when living life and serving Jesus Christ. If you have to become a snob or even a jerk just to say that you use a specific product or service, then you probably should consider who you really are versus who God would like for you
to be. Therefore, anything that gets in the way of you living your best Christian life is what the Bible considers an "idol". "Idolatry" can be anything that you worship or pay homage to more than God, and God forbids idolatry. Here is a leading Scripture Reference: 1. "The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them" Psalms 135:15-15 (KJV). Let us instead use technology for what it is worth. To do a great work, and job of obedience and of excellence, and do it unto the Lord and to advance God's Kingdom be it in school, work, business, ministry, etc.

The Remote By Stephanie Maxwell-Robles Does your life sometimes feel like a remote? Your on, than off again. Some times you feel like you're here , and other times you feel like your lost. I want to encourage you on today. Sometimes life can throw us curve balls that we're neither prepared for nor particularly care to have it manifests in the manner in which it does. Now, while you may not be able to control circumstances, people, and situations around you, you are absolutely in control of how you react or how you participate in such activities. When life starts to feel like an unforgiving remote, stand back, take a few moments to breath and began to collect yourself. You have every right to live a life that is whole, balanced and "drama free". Get into your prayer box and ask God for some direction. You can never be in total control of life, situations, people or the the "remote" at times for that matter, but rather, choose how you will carry yourself throughout it all.
