SKALD – VIKING MEAD

label design | il ustration

Viking Mead Ltd is a brewery based on the Shetland Islands, the northernmost group of islands in Scotland. The mead's name originates from the Viking’s legend of The Mead of Poetry. It is said that whoever drinks this mythical beverage becomes a skald (poet) or a scholar. The illustration of Skald is based on the scene, in which Odin, in the shape of an eagle, steals three draughts of mead and flies away. Competition entry (99designs), 2016

MANDALA – CERVECA

label design | il ustration | logo

Mandala craft beer originates from Chile, South America. With their new labels, they want to speak to a young target group, who appreciates the quality of beer and enjoys to have new experiences. Therefore, I created a label with a quite unusual shape, yet there is a connection to the word mandala. The look should represent street art mixed with watercolour to give it a crafty look. Competition entry (99designs), 2016

DÜ NORDIC – SHAMPOO

label design | logo | packaging

DÜ Nordic is a Danish beauty brand that only uses Nordic raw materials and oils. The task was to create a minimal and Nordic design for their new shampoo bottles. My proposed concept plays with fonts and simple clear lines, showing the Scandinavian simplicity while staying unique and original. Competition entry (99designs), 2016

ORGANIC SOAP

packaging design | il ustration | logo The American brand Booming Bob creates organic soaps scented with many different herbs and flowers. They are made of vegan ingredients, are extremely smooth to the skin and are of the best quality. To show the different ingredients I created this packaging design. The soap will be wrapped into patterned natural paper with a sticker on top and another one at the back, showing all relevant product information. This creates a natural, yet modern and crafty look. Competition entry (99designs), 2015

MAX RICHTER – SLEEP REMIXES

cover art | packaging design

Max Richter is one of Britain’s leading composers, producing solo albums as well as concert music, ballets and opera. This album contains two concepts: on the one hand sleep remixes, an exploration of music, and on the other consciousness and human connectivity. Hence, the album intends to help the listener fall asleep. Taking the moon as the main image the artwork accompanies the music's calm atmosphere. Competition finalist (99designs), 2015

WHITE MANTIS – EP 1123BC

cover art | il ustration | photography

White Mantis is a producer and musician who writes and performs his own electronic dance music. For their new EP (EP 1123BC), he was looking for an abstract and recognisable design. The design shows a mantis’ head created by folding paper with ink on it (inkblot), whereby the other designs show different shapes and colours of ink dropped into water. Competition finalist (99designs), 2016

WANDERING CINEMA

poster design | il ustration

The wandering cinema is an organisation that shows movies throughout the whole country of Austria. They are not only moving from one big city to another but also visiting small villages and towns. My two concepts show both aspects of this organisation, on the one hand the aspect of moving, on the other the emotional and inspirational journey that awaits the audience. kronsteiner | lohmer, 2016

THE WIZARD OF OZ

poster design | il ustration | booklet design This poster and booklet were designed for a high school performance of L. Frank Baum's book The Wizard of Oz. With little colours and clear shapes I tried to capture the essence of the movie, still incorporating the age and therefore preference of the cast. kronsteiner | lohmer, 2016

VARIOUS LOGOS

logo | branding | corporate identity You can see a variety of logos created during graphic design competitions: Halber Hirsch – Half a Deer, logo for a German-based fashion brand Competition winner (99designs), 2017

Wicklow Way Lodge, P4 Landscape Architecture Competition entry and finalist (99designs), 2017

Frische Ernte – Fresh Harvest, logo for a German DJ collective, Competition entry (99designs), 2017 Red Poppy, fresh logo design for a bakery and cupcake store, Competition finalist (99designs), 2017 Brand New Code, IT company, Competition finalist (99designs), 2017

MAGICAL ILLUSTRATION

postcard design | il ustration

The task was to create a whimsical, magical illustration of a ship on the sea under the night sky, with stars, the moon and a whale below the surface. The second illustration had to include owls on a tree. The client’s hope or intention was that the viewer feels like entering a magical world of imagination. The whale and owls were inspired by some of my favourite computer games, children’s books and movies and should depict a mystical and magical atmosphere. Competition finalist (99designs), 2015

WEDDING INVITATION

invitation set design | il ustration | logo

This wedding invitation set was created for a Czech-Hungarian couple and consisted of the main invitation card, a menu, a schedule and a letter of appreciation. Each card had a separate colour theme, yet all colours combined in the main invitation card set the tone of this young set. Commissioned work, 2016

INDIAN WEDDING

invitation card design

This special invitation card was made for an Indian wedding that took place in Great Britain. The envelope, covered in a beautiful pattern and held together by a cord, opens up and turns into the invitation card itself. Font and choice of colour reflected the look of this card.

HOARD THE SPOILS

cover art | il ustration

For Hoard the Spoils, a pen-and-paper fantasy roleplaying game book, I designed the cover by creating a scene of seven fantasy characters. They are standing in a magically lit cave, guarding a pile of gold, while foes are trying to attack them. Competition finalist (99designs), 2015

26

ABYZUS

book cover | cover art | il ustration The concept for the fantasy novel Abyzus was to create a book cover that looks like an ancient tome, showing medieval and Celtic symbols. Therefore I developed a logo, that integrates the two suns (that are relevant in the story), a whale and a shield (both were taken from the crest of one of the main families in the novel). Competition finalist (99designs), 2017

SKETCH GROUP VIENNA

digital painting | sketching

The Sketch Group Vienna is a group for young professionals as well as amateur artists and illustrators, that meet on a weekly basis to study figure, nude, and portrait drawing and painting. Here are some works created during these sessions. Below you can see a pencil sketch. The two digital paintings on the right side where part of the Sketch Group’s first group exhibition, in which I took part. The painting of the lady with the candles was sold as limited edition. Personal work, 2015 – 2016
