Located in Brooklyn by the Gowanus river, this site was the site of the original powerhouse that housed the railroads. The Gowanus is a Superfund site and is currently extremely polluted but is on the way to be cleaned and restored. What is on the site now, is well known to graffiti artists. This powerhouse is intended to be turned into a gallery and artist studio and lofts. Artists spend many hours a day bent over a desk or doing physical labor in producing artwork. Therefore, this building was designed off the idea of healthy living based on three major components: healthy eating, exercise and relaxation and meditation of the mind.Circulation to promote excercise, community vegetable garden and juice bar rather than coffee shop to promote healthy eating, and gardens, greens, and a reading room to promote relaxation and meditation.

As an addition to the NYPL ( New York Public Library) anchoring one of the corners of Bryant park, this office was to serve as a way to bridge the gap between the social classes by attempting to offer more free space to the public such as a large open ground floor that allows for large public flow and publick decks throughout the entire office complex. It also features glass elevators in an open atrium that highlights the space as a publicly open and viewable strip.

A cultural center right in the middle of the East River in New York City that acts as its own water treatment plant, filtering the river water and using it for the water walls and flushing water within the building. The elevation is also structural to imitate the motif of water reflected onto the building. This program includes a large auditorium and many large gallery spaces.

Influenced by the large Greek community at Carnegie Mellon University, a Greek life hub was incoporated into the design of a dormitory.Greek life has many major activities during the school year including Buggy making, Booths and the largest event of the Spring semester: Greek Sing.Greek Sing is an event in which each sorority or fraternity writes their own play, designs their own set, and choreographs their own dances. This dormitory includes the main offices that house the Greek life, a large auditorium/stage, large practice rooms as well as art rooms for set design. The dormitory features large lounges that connect between the floors for social integration and introduction of Greek life to freshman students.
GREEK LIFE HUB PITTSBURGH, NY
A slaughterhouse/pig farm right in downtown Syracuse on a teardrop site that is bounded by the Onondaga Creek and the railroads. This project looked at the social issues involved in bringing this typology into a city. What is seen, heard, and smelled needs to carefully thought out and controlled. This design incoporates a four step rotation of plots of land between a green park, a vegetable plantation and a piece of land for pigs to roll around in. These plots of land are rotated so the soil can be recycled and used for different purposes. The space underneath the railroad is used as a visual blinder to help mask parts of the complex as well as host a farmer’s market.
