Welcome to the 28th Annual Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville!
February 2-4, 2018 Music City Center Nashville, Tennessee
We are honored to serve as the General Chairmen for such a tremendous event. This year’s theme is “A Sense of Place.” Quoting a definition we ran across, a sense of place is “a unique collection of qualities and characteristics that provide meaning to a location. Sense of place is what makes one home different from another, but sense of place is also what makes our physical surroundings worth caring about.” As this is how we deeply feel about our own homes, it was an easy choice, and one that we felt certain would resonate with our Keynote Speaker, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, regarding his home, Althorp Estate. Our entire speaker lineup reflects this sentiment, and is a compilation of unbelievably talented and nationally recognized designers from around the country. Once again, the Show floor will be home to over 150 premier dealers and four spectacular gardens designed by some of the Southeast’s foremost landscape designers. We are most grateful for and humbled by the generosity of our corporate sponsors, benefactors, and friends whose contributions are the foundation of our fundraising efforts for Cheekwood and ECON charities. We are thankful to this year’s Presenting Sponsor, ADAC, for their enduring friendship, as well as to Andrew Byrd and TVV Capital for their 28 years of continued support. We also want to thank the many volunteers who have worked countless hours to make this Show a success, and our families for their support, patience and love. During the cold and bleak winter season, we hope we can bring a touch of color and warmth to enliven and enchant your lives! We are delighted you are here!

Founding Sponsor Andrew Byrd, TVV Capital How can one find a better way to enjoy a cold winter day than come inside to enjoy the flowers, gardens and beautiful antiques? Spring is just around the corner. In 1987-1988, the President of the Exchange Club (now Economic Club) of Nashville asked me to chair the Nashville Lawn & Garden Show. That year, it became the Nashville Lawn & Garden Fair. Working with the botanical staff at Cheekwood (Dick Page & Randall Lantz) along with Floyd McDonald, and with the Garden Club of Nashville (Betty B. Graham), we put on one of Nashville’s finest shows to educate all Nashvillians on their gardens and landscaping. Later, when the Antiques Show merged into the Nashville Antiques & Garden Show, I headed Logistics for the first 1990 show at the Nashville Convention Center. I have supported the show ever since. As a result, more than a million dollars has been given by the Economic Club Charities to dozens of social service organizations across our city, bettering many people’s lives. Beauty, education and service to our community, how can one better summarize what our show means? Our sponsorship is a very small part of an extraordinary Show helping to build an extraordinary city, Nashville, Tennessee. Thank you for coming!

Electric Flora
Phillipe Chadwick & Nick Maynard
Electric Flora is the fresh and new floral design company started by Nashville’s own Phillipe Chadwick and his partner Nick Maynard. Phillipe has been making brides bubble and party planners pleased for years as Nashville’s premier floral designer. Nick has a degree in marketing and a talent with logistics. This is a match made in event planning heaven. Phillipe has more resources to develop his craft, which has taken his designs to new levels. Nashville’s event scene can’t wait to have its flowers powered by Electric Flora. Phillipe‘s flower designs are consistently show-stopping and vibrant, yet elegant and sentimental. His arrangements make any event meaningful and personal. He always gets people talking. He knows just the trick, because at his core, Phillipe is a catalog of knowledge about plants and flowers. His first love is gardening, and he has tended garden styles ranging from heirloom vegetable to Japanese. Phillipe Spencer Chadwick was born and currently resides in Nashville. He received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University in 2006. He then started working as a Landscape Architect, managing civic designs for the city of Franklin, TN. But don’t judge a book by its cover. His extensive background in horticulture preempts his role as a floral designer. In 2009, Phillipe joined the ranks of Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art as a horticulturalist, and catapulted them to a new level of hip. He stressed keeping all designs provocative and cutting-edge but at the same time aesthetically pleasing. He breathed life into Cheekwood’s gardens, transforming them into lush scenes of texture and color. He adorned Cheekwood’s special events with fresh, bright flower arrangements. As the creative force behind Electric Flora, Phillipe’s work speaks for itself and has established a strong reputation in Nashville for crafting memorable weddings flowers and impressive visual spectacles for events. His resume includes The Antiques and Garden Show, the TPAC gala, and Chukkers for Charity. Occasionally Phillipe hosts Volunteer Gardener on NPT. He gives every client close, one-on-one time and attention to decide how their magical ideas can literally be transformed into reality. Phillipe’s professional attitude is the epitome of class and style. Likewise, his designs never fail to impress. 26

Poise & Ivy
Kathi & Brian Gilleland Kathi Gilleland’s love for plants came from her mother and began at an early age. Looking for unique plants has always been a part of her life. Kathi developed her craft at the former Botanica, under the tutelage of Stephen Wells. Thanks to Stephen, Ben Page, and Landy Gardner, Poise & Ivy was born in 1997 and Kathi’s clientele expanded from Nashville to include Tampa, Chicago and Los Angeles. She works closely with architects and designers to create container gardens that are beautiful, unique and hardy. Her work has been featured throughout the years in local and national publications. While working at a client’s home, she met Brian Gilleland and they married in 2008. Brian has worked in the Middle Tennessee landscape industry in every capacity from installer to designer of a labyrinth, vegetable gardens, and complete landscapes. Whether through the renovation and maintenance of an existing plan or implementation of a new design, his goal is to draw people into nature by enhancing the natural attributes of the landscape around them. Together, Brian and Kathi combine their experience, knowledge and talent to create unique spaces that reflect their clients’ taste and gardens’ spirit. facebook.com/poiseandivy James Livingston is a West Tennessee native born into a family which farmed much of the Tennessee Delta since the early 1850’s. One could say horticulture is a part of his genetics. James started his landscaping career in 2003 with Turfmaster Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee working under Landscape Designer Michael McClain. There, as Landscape Installation Foreman, James sharpened his knowledge in all phases of the landscape construction process. After relocating to Middle Tennessee in 2009, James accepted a position at Natural Creations LLC under Matt Dawson. This experience greatly increased his knowledge of all floras, specifically evergreens and ornamentals. In 2013 Livingscapes LLC went from being a dream to a reality. By providing custom landscape construction and maintenance to many exclusive estates in Middle Tennessee, James has developed an impressive portfolio of projects for elite clients throughout the Southeast. His vast knowledge and attention to detail allows him to select the highest quality of material to create gardens that are timeless and visually stunning. GARDENS SPONSORED BY

Tulips, daffodils, magnolias, redbuds and dogwoods add cheer to the season as warmer weather and longer days arrive in Nashville. Every Saturday and Sunday, enjoy garden tours, Mansion tours, and the Cheekwood Beer Garden with food trucks and live music. New! May Days at Cheekwood
May 1 – 31, 2018 In conjunction with Amanda Parer: Intrude, enjoy special weekend programs and “Hoppy Hour” on Thursday and Friday nights during May. Summertime at Cheekwood
June 1 – September 2, 2018 All summer long, Cheekwood offers exciting and inspiring experiences, as summer annuals and perennials fill our gardens. From Summer Camp to nighttime strolls in the garden, we invite you to discover the color, wonder and peaceful nature of Summertime at Cheekwood. Cheekwood Harvest
September 22 – October 21, 2018 Chrysanthemums dominate the gardens, and fall colors, scarecrows and pumpkins take over Cheekwood. Step into our Pumpkin House, pick a pumpkin from the patch, and enjoy a craft beer and live bluegrass music in the Cheekwood Beer Garden. Holiday LIGHTS at Cheekwood
November 23 – December 30, 2018 Nashville’s favorite tradition returns with ONE MILLION LIGHTS illuminating our gardens for the prettiest winter stroll of the season.
Cheekwood Mansion
In 2017, several rooms in the Cheekwood Mansion were refurnished to showcase the original design, tastes and interests of Mabel and Leslie Cheek and their collaboration with architect Bryant Fleming, who also created Cheekwood’s landscape and interiors. Tour the historic home to experience the sights, sounds, and sensations of a bygone era. Frist Learning Center
Cheekwood’s restoration and refurnishing projects continue with this year’s renovation of the Frist Learning Center, the institution’s hub of education, exploration, and discovery. Located in the building that originally served as the Cheek family’s horse stables and garages, The Frist Learning Center will re-open this spring with a new café, additional meeting and retail space, and refurbished art studios and classrooms. The original Tack Room and Horse Stables will also be open to visitors.
Summer Camp at Cheekwood June 4 – August 3, 2018
Kids are in for an unforgettable week at Cheekwood’s Summer Camp. With art adventures and garden explorations, children of all ages can learn, grow and play as they enjoy our STEAM-based camp programs.

Sponsoring the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville Since 1991
Who We Are The Economic Club of Nashville (ECON) provides a dynamic forum at weekly lunch meetings for business and community leaders to identify and discuss economic, social or political issues of special interest to Nashvillians. Members seek to interact with business leaders and government officials and support key nonprofit organizations that contribute to the quality of life in the Greater Nashville area.
Where We Came From The ECON draws its history and tradition from the Exchange Club of Nashville. One of the largest clubs of the national organization, the Nashville Chapter was chartered on April 16, 1920, to support the national mission: “Exchange, America’s Premier Service Club, working to make our communities better places to live.” This mission resonates with members of the new club, which continues many of the existing initiatives.
Moving Forward
ECON will continue in its support of The Family Center as well as provide generous support to many charities in Nashville. In 2014, the ECON formed the Cultural Assistance Program (CAP) to provide opportunities for children and their families to participate in Nashville’s cultural and arts programs. Since 1991, the ECON and Cheekwood have cosponsored the annual Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville. This show has become the Club’s main fundraising activity, allowing ECON Charities, Inc., to contribute more than $1.5 million to local charities.
A History of Service The Club has been instrumental in helping make Nashville the great city that it is today. The list of achievements in its early years includes: • Widening Church Street west of the viaduct and the extension of Ninth Avenue from Church Street to Union Station, without cost to the city of Nashville; • The increase of parking facilities at Union Station; • The beautification of Memorial Park opposite the state Capitol; • The first overall street marking program in Nashville; • Building children’s playgrounds at the Davidson County Tuberculosis Hospital; • Equipping the Vanderbilt band with its first uniforms; • Sponsoring the first successful fundraising campaign for the American Red Cross conducted in Nashville; • Providing support for the public development of Cheekwood in 1960, transforming the private residence into a public garden and art museum. Today, the Club participates in programs to support NeedLink Nashville (formerly known as Big Brothers of Nashville), The Salvation Army, Cheekwood and The Family Center.
