Welcome! Hello EBC Luncheon Guests! We are thrilled that you are here with us for Eastside Baby Corner’s 6th Annual Helping Kids Thrive Luncheon! “25 years of Giving and Growing” is our theme as this year marks the 25th year that Eastside Baby Corner is helping kids thrive. We are celebrating today because every day that EBC serves this community there are more at-risk kids going to school with proper coats and shoes; more babies from lowincome families are provided with enough diapers and formula; more toddlers from families in poverty have safe car seats. Giving: Our supporters give in so many ways, which allows EBC to continue to give to our families all the basics they need for their growing children. Growing: We do wish that our progress eradicated all of the need in our community. Since this is not likely to happen anytime soon, we are focusing on growing our programs and service area because an expanding community like ours brings with it fresh waves of children and
parents in need of basic goods. EBC sees the challenge as more and more children in our area are in need of our services, and we approach that with a “We say YES” attitude. Our program today will highlight the ways that EBC continually says ‘YES’ to helping more children and families in our own backyard. The giving nature of our community - your giving - is critical to the success of Eastside Baby Corner’s mission and our continued growth as we try to help more and more children. Please help us keep all of our children fed, warm and safe. Thank you for being such a positive part of our community by attending and giving generously today!
Today’s Speakers: Sarah Howbert is a family support specialist at Northshore Youth and Family Services (NYFS) in Bothell. She has worked for NYFS for over three years as a child and family therapist and is enjoying her work with Healthy Start. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UW, and her masters in marriage and family therapy from Antioch University. Ana Brito Lewis is the Family Involvement Liaison/Human Services Specialist, Family Connections Center at Lake Hills Elementary, Bellevue School District Dana Bailey is Principal of Pacific Cascade Middle School, Issaquah School District
