The Kentucky Shorthorn Assoc. welcomed a strong set of Shorthorn cattle for the 2022 Kentucky National Sale, with packed crowd and great support the event was a success. As the 2022 National Alternate Lassie, Sierra Betts led the show cattle into the ring, you could feel the Juniors enthusiasm radiating high from the bleachers. Congratulations to all the Kentucky Shorthorn Assoc and consignors for the presentation of a quality event. $5,000 – Lot 18 – Open Heifer – OSF Augusta Pride. A red with white marks, polled, April 18th 2021 daughter of CF Trustee x and out of Fr Augusta Pride 307D ET. This was the Champion Heifer in the pre-sale show. A bold –structured, great fronted and deep body that will be a show contender. Offered by Oler Farms and purchased by Lanee Swindell of Shirley, Ind. $3,500 – Lot 24- Shorthorn Plus Open Heifer – J-F Lady 2147 W. A blue roan, polled, May 25th, 2021 daughter of MR FR Emperor 7167 and out of J-F Lady Cornerstone 1921 EV ET. She was your Reserve Champion Plus heifer in the preshow. She has good rib dimension and is a super stout female. Offered by Jester Farms and purchased by Kaitlyn Powers of Salem, Ind. $3,300 – Lot 28 – Shorthorn Plus Open Heifer – Sharben Crystal Style 1185 ET. A blue roan, polled November 2, 2020 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303 and out of Sull Crystal Love 2023 ET. This female was the eye catcher of the sale and tame as a kitten. She has depth of rib and very sound on her feet and legs. Offered by Sharben Shorthorns and purchased by Herman Schwantz of Lincoln, Ill. $3,200 – Lot 11 – Open Heifer – Crowe Sadie 621. A roan, horned, June 1,2021 daughter of Sharben Reddington 805 and out of Martinell Lita 610. A powerful made female with loads of muscle,bone and talk about hair, oh my. A stacked pedigree, Trump, Solution, Jake’s Proud Jazz and Red Reward. Offered by Crowe Shorthorns and purchased by Colbie Six of New Freeport, Pa. $3,100 – Lot 15 – Open Heifer – LSF Camele 104. A red, polled, May 5, 2021 daughter of Leveldale Ringo 337A and out of FR BFS Carmele MP 943. What a sweet solid red package tracing back to Red Blood genetics. The Carmeles have been proven to be solid breeding pieces. Offered by Leemon Stock Farms and purchased by Tristan Martin of Thompkinsville, Ky. And later that night in the Kentucky Proud Junior show she was Reserve Champion Shorthorn. $3,000 – Lot 1- Bull – SUTH Sligo 467H. A roan, polled, September 22, 2020 son of SUTH Sutherland Revlon 343E and out of SUTH Sutherland Janet 215B. Talk about performance, Sligo is in the top 15% for weaning weight, yearling weight and milk, Top 10% for Total Maternal. For Feed Lot Efficiency and Carcass Weight he is in the top 20%. Offered by Ragsdale Sutherland Shorthorns, Jaclyn Ragsdale, purchased by Randy Stephens of Springville, Tenn.
