WELCOME TO BUSHY PARK FARMS. It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you this year’s offering. As I sit to pen this opening letter, I have just returned home from travelling almost 13,000 miles, looking at sale cattle. While I can’t say I’ve seen all the heifer prospects that will sell this fall, I have seen piles and piles of them and I can tell say with confidence you won’t find a better set of show prospects across as many breeds as you will here!

This year’s Maine Anjou and MaineTainers are headlined by a slew of outstanding I-80’s. His calves have been sale toppers, highlights and standouts for just about every breeder who has used him! We are proud to remind folks that his dam was purchased as a show prospect here at a past Traditions of Excellence event. The MaineTainer’s are supplemented with a pair of Irish Whiskey females that will get your heart racing.

We are pleased with the our show results over the last 12 months, exhibiting both Grand Champion Bulls in the Maine Anjou and MaineTainer shows at the North American and National Western Stock Show. Our customers’ success is outstanding as the Champion Female at the National Western Stock Show went to our repeat customer, The Vickland Family, who purchased the champion out of the 2013 sale. The Reserve Champion Female title at the American Royal also went home with our good customers the Becking Families. Others impressive wins include Abbie Collins of Ohio winning both Champion Maine Anjou and MaineTainer females at the Ohio State Fair and we are looking forward to both these heifers and many other customers showing successfully this fall!

Year in and year out I am truly amazed of the donor cow power here at “The Park”. This year has the best offering of Chi and ChiAngus females you are likely to see, backed by a true influencer in Mail Me 055M. Daughters 910Y and 503K have combined to put eight daughters in the sale! THAT IS POWER IN THE BLOOD! Even more impressive is the fact that they are all Angus sired! These females are all great looking, flat muscled with the volume to win the big shows!

The there are the Herefords. I remember when BPF’s GM Cory Thomsen and I came across Elm Creek’s young bull calf at the Mile High Sale in Denver….there was something about that bull calf I just knew was special! Whomaker was far from the high seller that night, but went on to claim Grand Champion bull honors at the 2013 American Royal and 2014 National Western. This year we have four daughters to offer you and you’re gonna like them.

Continued success by those using BPF genetics to make their programs better is proof to me things are working here!

The Goettemoeller program had another wildly successful sale with 26 of 29 calves all having BPF genetics on one side of their pedigree. Scott Jorgensen, Adair Iowa, has had his best calf the last three years come from a baldy Macho daughter he now flushes. She was bought at the end of our 2008 sale for the opening bid of $1,500, and three daughters have grossed close to $30,000, while her heifer this year looks like she will add another 10K to that total easy!

Mike Locke’s Big Foot Ranch, Iowa purchased a good young Superwoman daughter for about $8,000 in last fall’s sale.

Her calf this spring paid for herself and a few others when he sold him to Matt Lautner Cattle. Matt has told me that he sure expects that one to be a real stand out when it comes time to display bulls in Denver!

We start off this year’s offering with a bang! This I-80 son is a stout built, huge ribbed sire that is tough to find a hole in him anywhere. He is backed by a powerful Irish Whiskey dam that was a past high seller at Griswold Cattle in Oklahoma. The 725T cow family is climbing the ladder at BPF.
