welcome to our 2016 event! We are humbled you are taking the time to view our offering. The last 12 months have seen some crazy changes in the cattle market, however be assured Bushy Park Farms quest and passion has not diminished in the least! Our Commitment to Excellence and The Tradition of Excellence continues, and it will for along time. We are in a small, specialized industry and we are very much our own small community, so allow me to discuss the “elephant in the room”. Yes, there are some major changes coming for Bushy Park Farms and sadly this will likely be the final sale at the Mitchell, South Dakota location and Yes, we are moving the operation headquarters to Winnsboro, Texas. The reason for the move is simple, Bushy Park Farms, owner Steve Robinson, had the opportunity of a lifetime to purchase Timber Creek Ranch. This is one of the premier ranch properties in the United States and to sweeten the deal, it’s close to Steve’s home and where he grew up as child. I honestly want to tell you all about how great the new ranch is, its location, and all the opportunity that comes with it, but for now let me stay on topic and just say, “We can not wait to host each of you and show you around our new Texas home”! I’ll also say prepare to come and stay for the weekend when you do! With that said, now let me repeat Our Commitment to Excellence and The Tradition of Excellence continues. The down side to this move is we have to make some major adjustments in our herd’s management and our production methods. Without getting into a lot of the details its safe to say this great opportunity for us, is also providing an incredible OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU! We simply must reduce cowherd numbers drastically for the move and we are offering cattle you would have NEVER have the chance to buy otherwise. We are offering many donors and future donors, and young cows from some of our most productive cow families. The bred heifers will be some of the best we have ever offered. While you’ve most likely heard the line, “The latch is off the keeper pen gate,” well never has that statement been truer! We are offering a number of cows in this event with the show heifer offering, simply because our sale staff and site cannot properly handle the numbers of cows. We will host a second sale with the remainder of the cows on December 3rd at the sale barn in Dunlop, Iowa. Now with all of that said, allow me to close by saying we realize time is in short supply for everyone and a drive to South Dakota might not be something you can fit in your schedule. We are happy to assist your family in selecting and purchasing cattle for you. We always have videos of all the lots selling online a week to ten days prior to the auction. The 189 cow that we purchased with Brian Martin in Buck’s cow sale two years ago backs these two sisters. We are happy with these Style bred females out of her and Brian says he has a Solid Gold out of her that will ring the dinner bell next spring. Not many cows will raise heifer and steers anymore. With Bushy Park’s recent decision to relocate to Texas, we have to downsize the herd due to lack of space at the new ranch. Here’s another one that has been a fun one to breed. Steve and I went to Canada a few years ago to study the cattle there. We found that they have a real grasp of udder quality and performance, while still have a desired show cattle look. 101R was one of the best cattle we saw in our travels. We purchased half interest from the Smith family in Canada and she has flat done a great job in our herd. We have retained several daughters in the herd. She has had many bulls and females in our production sale, but the most noted progeny of this great donor was the VanVleit’s family’s I-80 female that Barry Nowatske purchased from us in 2013.
