First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to evaluate our sale offering. We appreciate all the quality time we get to spend, talking with you about how these females will help you meet your operations goals. We are insanely proud of this set of heifers. This group is a culmination of all the hours, labor, blood, sweat, and tears over the past two years. I speak for the group when I say that this may be our best set yet, and we are dang proud of them.
This sale doesn’t happen without the great team we have. Sammi, Jaxon, and I would not be able to do this alone without the great support and mentorship we get from our parents Cory, Melissa, Jon and Lisa. They have been our biggest supporters, and we cannot thank them enough for all the time they spent laying the foundation for us, and giving us an incredible runway to take off from. Thank you will never be enough. We also need to thank all the incredible help we have day in and day out to help prepare these girls to the highest level.
Our herdsman Tray Zabokrtsky has been nothing short of incredible the past few years. His enthusiasm towards the daily grind, his work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile, and his overwhelming ability to continue to get better and more talented each coming day are all things that have helped this operation progress to where it is today. He knows this group as well as anybody, and I encourage anyone to ask him any questions you may have.
We also would like to thank Cory Thomsen for his mentorship and friendship. His guidance and wisdom has helped us grow in so many ways, and I’m so thankful we have him to bounce questions and ideas off of or to just simply ask for advice in tough times.
Last but not least, our Kansas herdsman Wyatt Lange. Wyatt’s eagerness and work ethic is unmatched. His willingness to dive in and tackle the various projects down there has been incredible to witness. The calves that came up from the Kansas division were in perfect shape and health and really portrayed all the hard work he did. I also want to thank all of the part time help that we have. Taylor Harriman, Colt Blacklock, Brett Kirby, Renee Grimm, Autumn Weaver, and Maddie Berg have been great to work with and we can’t thank them enough.
Over the past year we traveled 28,742 miles servicing cattle at various shows across the country and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be. We enjoy watching kids grow from the start of the show season to the end. We take great pride in the daily care, fitting, clipping, and feeding of your project.
One of our favorite things is showmanship and we love to help kids achieve their goals in that area. We are blessed with a surplus of talented individuals that are willing to help maximize your project for the upcoming year. Never be afraid to reach out with any questions or concerns with your projects. We encourage you to send pictures and videos of your heifers at home and would love to help out in every aspect.
We take the name Family Event very seriously. You guys have all been part of this ever growing family and we are so thankful for that.

Kicking off what has been a very special set of heifers, with one that we are elated to put our prefix on. Starting the offering with the progeny of the 2021 Reserve National Junior Heifer, SS Max Rosa 029, just makes sense. It’s not everyday that a cow gives you six high end heifer calves in one calf crop, but Max Rosa 029 did just that. All six are different in their very own special ways. This red and white heifer shares a lot of the same characteristics to her dam, yet is way squarer made and stouter hipped than she was. Lot 1 is backed by timeless genetics. Her mother was Reserve at Junior Nationals for Kane Aegeter in 2021, and her grand dam hung the very same banner for Sammi in 2012, the same year I met her. Guys I’ll be blunt, if you are wanting to compete at the highest level this year, then make sure you are in Marion to see this one and her sisters. They are special.
Retaining half embryo interest.

Lot 2 gets better each day she wakes up. It’s hard to make cattle, especially Shorthorn cattle, this square pinned and with this much shape while still keeping them with a functional set of feet and legs. We are trying to make them that way and it’s been insanely satisfying to watch the late nights and countless hours all come together when cattle like Lot 2 come into the barn. She is one of the hairiest heifers in the offering. Her dam and grand dam both hung Reserve Junior National banners in their show careers. Max Rosa continues to dominate the show ring and I’d expect no difference from Lot 2.

This set of sisters get me up in the morning. The older of the trio and one that offers a lot of next level pieces. The way this heifer’s neck attachment sits so high to come back into that much body and substance is truly impressive. Her feet and legs will last forever. When we talk about what separates the great from the good, a lot of times I feel like it’s a show ring presence that’s hard to quantify. Whatever gene in the DNA that is, this one has it. She walks around with an arrogance, like she knows she is purple bound.

We are striving to give these purebred Shorthorns more substance, while simultaneously keeping the feminine cow traits that make them so good. I think lot 4 is a step in the right direction. A standout since birth, this female has what it takes to be competitive at all levels. If you ask Mel, this is her pick. I’d have to say, I think she’s pretty smart and I’m agreeing with her here that this one is flat good. I love the immense amount of bone and power she has. I love how she ties all that with a big sweeping undercarriage and a high neck set. Popular Opinion was the national champion bull in 2022 at the American Royal. We purchased him to give added performance and look to our cow herd and he’s doing just that. This female’s pedigree will really open up breeding directions in the future. One that I’d jot down on my short list. Retaining half embryo interest.

This red and white female is definitely one that will not be ignored. When studying her from behind and at the three quarter angle, she gives as impressive of a look as any female in the offering. She sets wide in her pin placement, with a big round rib cage and a very functional set of feet and legs. This one to me has donor cow written all over her. I’d love to mass produce females that look like this. I don’t think I’d ever leave the pasture if we did. If you are looking for one that will not only compete in a show ring, but is going to help build or add to your herd then look no further. Once her ET’s start dropping I’d love to come over and take a look, heck I’ll probably bring a trailer and a checkbook. Retaining half embryo interest.

You can’t paint them any better in my opinion. This strawberry roan female’s outline is picture perfect. She’s got a neck a mile long and a belly that drags on the ground. Her December age gives you a different age division to play in and allows you to get to flushing a pinch earlier. This one was always a stand out on grass. I remember calling Sammi when I was down in Kansas looking at babies and raving about this one. I think she has big time potential, now she just needs her forever home and the equation will be complete. This set of sisters gets me fired up and is definitely worth the drive to Marion.
When we saw this one’s full sister hit the green chips for Kathy Lehman, Jaxon and I were instantly in love and knew we had to dive in on some genetics. We had the opportunity to purchase some from Sullivan Farms, and boy we are glad we did. This heifer has exceeded our expectations in every way. I love the pure structural integrity that this female offers. She carries herself with a cockiness that is hard to duplicate. The Max Rosa cow family has been dominate in and out of the show ring for as long as I can remember. Countless high sellers, champions, and breed changers go back to 310. If you are looking for heifers that are backed by the most proven genetics in the Shorthorn business then you better take a look at Lot 7. Retaining half embryo interest.
One of our biggest passions and priorities is customer service and day to day care. Whether you leave your purchase in the care of Schrag Nikkel Show Cattle or we come clip before a show, we want to ensure your purchase is presented to the highest level possible. It is not our intent to make money off of leaving a heifer in our care and realize just how expensive showing cattle is, but we would like to simply cover our costs. We also strongly encourage animals to be insured while in our care. To leave a heifer in our barn will be $20/day at home and $200/day at a show.

It feels so good to have a daughter of 161 in the sale. SS Dream Lady 161 was the Reserve Supreme Female at the National Western in 2013 for Sammi. She then found her way to the donor pen in Dunlap, Iowa for Sullivan Farms. There she raised several high sellers and breed changers, most importantly SULL Dream On 5158C. If you are unfamiliar with 5158C, she leads the Shorthorn donor pen for Schaeffer/Tice and is the dam of Limit Up, the Reserve Supreme Bull at Congress, Whitney Swaim’s Junior National and NAILE Champion, Hoppa’s Junior National Champion, Ferree’s Reserve National Champion and countless others. Here is your chance to own a maternal sister to 5158C that brings a certain amount of quality that can’t be denied.
We decided to not only continue to progress our own genetics, but to try and purchase some of the top genetics out of our favorite donor cows in the breed. We were so excited to get ahold of some No Limit x 5158C genetics from Schaeffer/Tice because they have been so deadly in the show ring these past few years. This young heifer is a full sister to Limit Up, the Reserve Supreme Bull at Congress, Whitney Swaims Junior National and NAILE Champion, Hoppa’s Junior National Champion, Ferrees Reserve National Champion and countless others. We think this heifer has a lot of the same qualities of her illustrious siblings. Come see her on October 12th.

It’s hard to believe that we have progressed this far into Schrag Nikkel that we are offering some of the first daughters out of the very first group we worked on together the summer I moved up here. 121 otherwise known as “8 Ball” in the barn was an absolute unit of a Shorthorn female. She possessed so much power and mass and yet was arguably the most structurally correct female in the barn. She had one of the most massive sets of feet I’ve ever seen, and I’ll always remember Cory Thomsen ranting and raving about how good quality they were after he trimmed them. Dream Lady Drama 121 went on to be Supreme Female at American Royal. These two littermates by Evolution are impressive. Lot 10 is as wide and stout as her mom, but adds more hair and presence to the equation than she ever did.

The angulation of her joints, the balanced look she gives, the high neck attachment, boy she just does so many things to the highest degree. Her dam was an absolute powerhouse female that went on to be Supreme Female at the American Royal for Mackenlee Evans and St. Ledger. That female was so unique in so many ways. Death, taxes, and Propel females that will go on to be awesome donor dams are some things I can guarantee in this world. This cherry red female is the reason why we love the Dream Lady 6202 line of cattle. She is so maternal in her body cavity, so good in her joint work and feet, and so powerful throughout her hip and stifle. This female reminds us so much of the Lot 1 female from 2022. That female went on to be a division champion at Congress and Louisville for St. Ledger and Mackenlee Evans. Lot 12 is also a maternal sister to SS Inferno, the Reserve National Champion Bull at NAILE and now one of our main herd sires.

Another daughter of 6202 that we love due to her awesome structure and ultra lady-like look. These cattle will never go out of style in my opinion, and are the type I’d love to just fill acres of grass with. We loved the Upperhand bull when Cates and Shoufler brought him to 605 Sires and knew we had to use him. We thought he would click well with 6202 and boy are we glad we did it. This is a female that is so complete that she is hard to put a hole in. She’s a little behind on hairing up but I think once she gets there it’s going to get fun.

I don’t think there is enough room in the catalog for me to go on and on about how much I love this one, so I’m going to do my best to keep it short and sweet. From the moment this one hit the ground she’s been good. She has always been a stand out, you simply can’t draw them up better. Perfect structured, big ribbed, smooth muscle patterned, and a perfect head and neck. I cannot wait to see what this one looks like a year from now. All I know is that she just needs to be standing on some green bark. Her dam, 9154 has been an incredible producer for us and Fred Ripberger. This summer a full sister was Reserve Division at Junior Nationals for Mackenlee Evans. Retaining half embryo interest.
The Dream Maker x 9154 mating is clicking as well as anything here in Marion. This one hit me very hard when she hit the picture pen. She is so powerful and broody, yet so elegant – the perfect blend of traits that tend to equal success. I’m very high on this one and think she can be a serious contender. I think she’s a better version of the full sister that Mackenlee Evans was Reserve Division with in Timonium this summer. Her added length and power have her destined for great things. I see an ET center in her future once she hangs up the show halter. Retaining half embryo interest.
Another phenomenal Dream Maker x 9154 female. This one has some very flexible feet and legs, and a long maternal body. These Dream Maker cattle are taking the nation by storm, and it makes sense why. They are so good in so many areas that it is hard for other sires to duplicate. I feel like this one may be the sleeper of the litter, so take advantage here and bet on her, I bet you will be glad you did. 9154 is the backbone of our donor program being the dam of 5210 and 6213. The only thing I wish I could change about this sale set is to add more Missing Mirage lineage. With that being said I think the three we are offering are all very good with high upsides. Lot 20 is a very complete female that does so much right. Hard to knock cattle that are good structured, big bodied and good looking. This female has some maternal giants in her pedigree. Her mother was an Aviator x 2120 female that did lots of winning for Sammi and the St. Ledger Family. I’m not going to lie, this business can be hard. It’s hard to be a breeder because of the number of super talented breeders that already exist. One thing that I do know is that every day we are learning and striving to make cattle that push boundaries. We are all striving for those once in a lifetime donor cow unicorns that possess traits that are different than all of their contemporaries. I don’t know if she’s the perfect one but I do know one thing, Lot 21 defies logic. To be so massive in her muscle pattern, so square hipped, so huge legged, and then to tie so high out of the apex of her shoulder and to have the structural correctness that she does, it’s really something different. I think this one has the most extras in so many ways. We are proud to offer her. This heifer was raised with our good friend Kennedy Arthur and her family. This one is not your everyday Shorthorn. Here’s a female that contains so much mass and width, it’s hard to believe she’s not an appendix. I think there are a lot of cool aspects about this one. Let’s start with the fact that she carries an outcross pedigree to many of today’s mainstream bulls. You can do so many things in terms of flushing and breeding on this one. Take her to some flatter muscled prettier ones and make powered up show heifers or take her to Lethal or Perfection and make those hard to find Shorthorn steers. This next group of sisters have been an absolute joy to be around. This youngest sister is one that gets my blood pumping and my heart racing. You just can’t build one’s skeleton better than this. She absolutely floats around her trap with ease. She has some extra width in her pin placement, and that stunning long neck that we show heifer guys go crazy for. I think this heifer is destined for the big leagues and I can’t wait to get her out. Her dam has been one of our highest generating donors and continues to hit home runs. This heifer is a full sister to Kennedy Arthur’s Congress, American Royal Supreme and Junior National Reserve Supreme Female, as well as Maddie Berg’s National Western and Iowa Beef Expo 5th Overall Female. Her maternal Purebred sister was a division winner at NAILE for Kaitlyn Berg.

I challenge you to find a major problem with this heifer. You talk about total completeness. This heifer’s body capacity is unmatched. Her pasture and ring presence is undeniable. Her fluidity in her movement is poetic. I’m a big fan of cattle like this, they just never seem to have bad days. The 320Z cow will turn twelve this spring, but still looks like she’s six. She is truly an absolute specimen to see and that power and longevity is starting to translate into her daughters.
This one wasn’t feeling it on picture day, but believe me when I tell you she’s worth the drive to Marion. Stay tuned for updated snapchats! When you make them this good and then add a shot of chrome, boy it gets fun. Just like adding a little hot sauce to that perfect meal, it just adds a little zest. You’ll be sure to get a second look with this powerful December female. She’s ready to roll right into the show season from day one. The added length and extension that she has compared to her sister’s just adds to the total package that she will have as a big bred. Her markings and quality remind us so much of Maddie Berg’s many time champion full sister. Her attitude also matches identically, and if you ask Maddie, you can’t make them better. This heifer is a full sister to Kennedy Arthur’s Congress, American Royal Supreme and Junior National Reserve Supreme Female, as well as Maddie Berg’s National Western and Iowa Beef Expo 5th Overall Female. The purebred 320Z! Don’t let her maternal sisters fool you, this one has all the pieces to be very competitive. A shot green and still has not gotten her winter wool, but the feet and legs, body, and length of spine give her all the tools she needs to be big time one day. This is my sleeper heifer, and much like Kaitlyn Berg’s maternal sister last year, she’s going to continually get better every day you own her. Sired by Inferno who has done a great job making maternal built cattle with some added width and doability. This heifer is a maternal sister to Kennedy Arthur’s Congress, American Royal Supreme and Junior National Reserve Supreme Female, as well as Maddie Berg’s National Western and Iowa Beef Expo 5th Overall Female. A great way to kick off our Angus division with an absolute stunner of an Angus female. Our Angus herd is smaller than most, but we do appreciate all the good characteristics they bring to the table. This heifer gives you the profile that we used to sit and try and draw when we weren’t paying attention in math class. An ultra attractive female that’s huge bodied and smooth muscle patterned. She’s big, woofy and ready to roll out of the gate. Her dam was our selection from PVF in 2018. She had a great show career and has gone on to make a great donor for us. Hello!!! When I purchased SSF On Point from the Cates Family, Tyler and I always thought that he would absolutely click with Bardot 3268. The addition of the high powered, high generating Annie Lu cow family to the widest built, maternal super star Bardot just seemed like a no brainer. I feel like this female has finally put all the good together in one singular package. She moves like a jungle cat, with the elegance of the finest lady you know. If you’re looking to play at the highest levels, I’d be sure to take a look at Lot 35. I feel this is one of the better females to stomp the grounds on 444th Avenue. A heifer that is so graceful in her movement, so stunning in her pattern, and comes out so high out of the apex of her shoulder. The extra splash of paint will only help separate you from the pack. There has always been heavy debate at our place on what female you would want to show or build herds with, and this female always finds her way into the discussion. I cannot wait for her to set those hooves on the chips under the bright lights. She’s a full sister to Lange/ Zaborktsky’s 130J that had a great show career being named Supreme Chi-Composite and 5th Overall Maine-Angus at Junior Nationals, Champion Maine-Angus at Congress in both the Jr. and Open shows went on to later to be named 4th Overall Supreme female in the Open drive, and Reserve Supreme at World Beef Expo. Not all cattle are built equal. Ladies and gentlemen I think this female is above and beyond any norm. You can’t make them stouter, denser, and wider than this – and still keep those ladylike characteristics. A female that moves with authority. Her feet and legs can go on forever. It’s truly been a joy to watch this one develop. She has been an absolute standout. The Maine-Angus hybrid is by far one of my favorite crosses and it’s females like this that explain why. To take the punchiness and added muscle from the Maine side and the softness and elegance from the Angus side works like a charm. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this one. They just keep coming out of this mating. A shot younger and a little greener compared to her two sisters, but one that has really come on in the last sixty days. Her Dam is a maternal sister to Hannah Fox’s Denver champion in 2023. It’s no secret that the Data Bank’s are not only good themselves, but are going on to make great donor cows. This one is no exception.

SN ERIKA 285K
Probably the biggest set of pipes in the sale belong to 285K. Here’s a really good female that offers some extra length of body and shape. Sired by BOE Fame, who has always brought the goods and backed by a great Maternal Made female. You can’t go wrong here, I think she has the pieces to be a big time generator.

The Mob Boss cattle are good and we are going to be using more of that bull in the future. They offer a lot of the same qualities that the Memphis Mafia’s do. 373L is a ¾ sister to a past high seller bought by Luke Doris and is now grazing his donor pen. This female was just a little too green for the show heifer sale last year or she would have already ran across the auction block.

Another great Mob Boss female backed by a Shorthorn Plus cow. This female has always been stout and dense with great hair and a great look. I think there is a lot of generating potential here. Whether you want to go percentage Maines or the Club Calf route, I think she will make you money either way.

The Mob Boss’s truly didn’t disappoint this year. The Maine/Simmental hybrid flat out works, and gives an excellent backbone to a cow herd that wants to try and raise top notch show steers and heifers. This female has a tremendous set of feet and legs, some added extension, and plenty of bone and power. Her mother has a picture perfect udder and I’d expect her to do the same. Great opportunity here.

S/N LADY 3929
Only two Angus breds and both unbelievably high quality. Lot 75 does everything right – from her feet and legs to her ultra balanced look. You can’t go wrong having a good solid Angus cow base in this industry. Both her sire and dam come from the Cates family, who have found lots of success in the show ring with their Angus herd. This female’s dam is a maternal sister to Ferree’s Conley Express female that was show heifer of the year and a many time champion. Her grand dam is one of the top producers for SSF.

Lot 76 is a personal favorite. She’s super soft, ultra flexible, and has a feminine look that can’t be denied. Sired by Collison Alpha, who has a history of siring some very competitive show heifers across the country. Her dam comes from the Geppert family, who have been no strangers to good Angus cattle. This one’s dam is picture perfect. A front pasture cow.

S/N BAD AT LOVE
Our lone Purebred Simmental, but one that is definitely no slouch. This female is super powerful, has massive rib shape, and moves like a cat. Her dam is an awesome Hammer x Broker female that we purchased from Minnaert and Seys several years ago. 3487L is a maternal sister to High On Love 055H, who is a top donor for Rosebud Cattle in KS.

She’s been one of our favorites all year. She sticks out like a sore thumb in the bred heifer pen. If you like them wide tracking and big backed, check in right here. Her outcross pedigree offers a lot of different ways you can go breeding her to fill your bank account. I think her versatility is unmatched in the offering. She can make breeding heifers, seedstock, or club calves. Pick your poison there and buckle up!
