Since our first newsletter earlier in the year, a lot has changed at 21 Wapping Lane; our final phase is now underway, pictures of which you can see further on in this edition. MEET JOHN MORLEY, MD JOHNS&CO Former Head of International Sales at Ballymore, John Morley, has over a decade of experience in the industry. He talks to us about his most recent venture as Managing Director of Johns&Co. Tell us more about the background to the company, how did the idea for Johns&Co develop? The concept of launching a tailored management company which would service investment customers has been on my agenda for some time. Through discussions with the Chairman of Ballymore and the company’s Managing Director, Mr. John Mulryan, the business model was carefully developed. The studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments will offer spectacular views of the river, the City and Canary Wharf.

HIRE A BIKE The Barclays Cycle Hire scheme has been a resounding success accross London and hundreds of the so-called Boris Bikes are here in Wapping. Last year, 157 bikes were installed at docking stations on Pennington Street, Garnet Street, Sampson Street and two docking areas on Wapping Lane, taking the total number of bikes in East London to almost 3,000. It is a great way to explore the local area and understand the new community you’re joining.

SITE PROGRESS Here is the latest image from our construction team at 21 Wapping Lane and we now have 225 people working hard on the site to get your home completed. We are now constructing the 16th floor lift core and stairs, a prominent feature in the tower which will ultimately be 18 storeys tall. Meanwhile, we have reached the 10th level in our work to clad and fit windows to the building. You will also be pleased to hear that the interior installation has commenced in the apartments.

MEET OUR TEAM FERGUS BOYLE, SITE MANAGER Fergus is taking care of things at 21 Wapping Lane. Here is his latest update on construction progress: “We are getting really busy on site now and the tower is looking fantastic. The superstructure is anticipated to be completed at the end of August and we will share more pictures of that in the next issue of the newsletter.” MICHELLE MURPHY, CUSTOMER LIAISON We hope that you will join us in wishing current customer liaison Harpreet Sura every success in the future as she moves on from our team to undertake a new role. FUTURE SCHEMES LEAMOUTH ISLAND One of the most exciting projects on the horizon is the creation of 1,706 apartments, an arts centre, gallery, restaurants and shops on an island like site at the mouth of the River Lea.
