playoutHD: base configuration Lowest cost per-channel entry point: The base configuration for a playoutHD system comprises a 1RU chassis with an A/B mixer, providing plenty of space for expansion within the 1RU chassis. Despite offering by far the lowest cost per-channel entry point of any playout system, the base configuration of playoutHD is still packed full of features.

allows you to cost-effectively add value to your channel. The inteligent chassis: The etherBox chassis offers connectivity using GPI, ethernet, RS232, RS422. It supports applications for modules running over TCP/IP. The chassis has an internal web server providing real time diagnostic information

playoutHD: A/B Video-audio mixer module Compact but powerful: Despite its compact size the A/B mixer module at the heart of every playoutHD system is a powerful mixer providing a wide range of video transitions with audiofollows-video, and Dolby-E 速 splice configuration available on any audio.

Transitions can be operated via automation, manually as automatic timed transitions or manually via a T-Bar depending on selected control panel options.

Mix/Wipe module features: + Cut, Mix or Wipe as standard + Cut/Fade, Fade/Cut + U and V fades + H, V, Diagonal, Arrow and Diamond wipes + Adjustable edge softness and coloured borders + All parameters user controllable + Automation or manual control (auto or T-Bar) + 16 channel audio mixing with selectable Dolby E 速 splice mode on any channels.


playoutHD: adding to a base configuration Add features, keep costs low: The modular nature of a playoutHD system allows you to easily and cost effectively add additional features to your system as revenues increase and more complex channel playout facilities are required. The fine grain modular architecture allow you to add only those features that are needed.

More than just channel playout As playoutHD leverages the same modular networked technology as the rest of eyeheight’s product you are not just restricted to adding standard features to your playoutHD system. Eyeheight can also integrate other features such as legalisation, colour correction or aspect ratio conversion (or any other eyeheight geNETics product) on

request.

playoutHD: Individual keyer modules Flexible Keying: Up to three keyers (more on request) can be added to the base configuration playoutHD. Each keyer has Key, Fill & Background inputs for flexible configuration and a dedicated preview output. Powerful features: The keyer module supports Cut, Mix and Wipe transitions for taking keys to air. The playoutHD keyer module includes internal

Matte generator for key-only coloured overlays. All keyers can be controlled independently or in unison via automation or manually via the TK-10 control panel. All key and transition parameters are user adjustable and can be saved to the internal user memories.

Keyer module: key features + Linear keys + Additive or multiplicative keys + Normal, inverted, self and colour-fil keys + Cut, mix and wipe key transitions + Preview output + Up to 3 keyers per system for a conventional system, more on request.


playoutHD: audio & voice-over module Voice-overs: Adding voice-over capabilities to a playoutHD system is simple. Each voice-over module adds two independent AES inputs with individual level control. The voice-over module can be controlled via automation, a standard playout control panel. For a more operational feel the optional AP-10 control panels provide high quality slider level control for each input.

For combined eyeheight manual and automation control systems the AP-10M provides motorized Ap10 faders for automation system feedback of audio level changes.

playoutHD: Router Control. Most applications for channel playout use a separate upstream router The optional PP-10 control panel integrates with the other control panel options to provide a fully featured onepiece control surface for router control. This makes

the router behave like a typical Flip-Flop ProgramPreset panel. This must be used in conjunction with the RT-9 protocol converter for use with third party routers.

The LI-2 further builds on the LI-1D by adding support for animating logos with a comprehensive choice of animation options and also adding an extra logo layer per channel. Both the LI-1D and LI-2 units are supported by the Netlogo mulit-channel networked logo storage and

management system which allows any and all supported logo inserters within an installation to be managed remotely from a single workstation and for logos and playlists to be stored and served from a central location. playoutHD: automation control playoutHD systems not only support automation, they were designed from the ground up to provide the video processing requirements of todays modern multi-channel automation controlled playout facilities.

To unleash the full power of the playout system including command stacking, timecode synchronization in the mixer and advanced transition features like U and V fades and audio lead lag the playout system can be optionally configured with eyeheights PresTX protocol interface.


playoutHD: example small system A typical cost-effective playout channel is shown below. Compact but full of features the 1RU chassis provides A/B mix/wipe with embedded audio-follows video and flip-flop preview, a downstream keyer with mix & wipe transitions and preview output,Text crawler/Static text with animating logo and another external keyer. eyeheight - an overview Eyeheight has been an established manufacturer of broadcast equipment for over 15 years. Eyeheight started with the aim of specialising in the rapidly expanding market of digital broadcast equipment. Our main strengths has been innovation and customisation. We have a reputation of taking on projects that other manufacturers would not do due to low quantity and cost.

In order to do this eyeheight's team of experts have led the field in "rapid hardware development" based on an innovative reusable common hardware platform known as geNETics. Since then the playout range of products, themselves based on a successful long term development for the BBC has led to the development of the vista and playout systems. Building on the success of these

products has enabled eyeheight to expand with an R&D and production site in Watford as well as a sales office in south London. The directors of eyeheight are Martin Moore, Steve Crocker and SimonPegg. Martin and Steve, are both BBC trained and held chief engineer positions in Post production. Simon is a leading authority on reusable firmware design.
