IPV’s hardware accelerated transcoders – 1U 2channel box supports live transcode of SD or HD growing media from multiple server devices to create WM9 VC1 proxy media at SIF or D1. Features include multiple language track support, burn in picture timecode & logo insertion.
Curator SpectreView Streaming server – supports hundreds of user controlled streams to provide an unparalleled user experience at the desktop. A SilverLight client is offered for cross platform web browser integration as well as existing COM and JAVA based API calls.
Utilising the IPV Process Engine and the AME Conform Engine automation of the High Resolution edit into the chosen format to a specific location is made possible bypassing the Online edit altogether. Design & Automate
Manage For sites with multiple XCodes, XCode Manager enables job submission prioritisation and load balancing via a web services interface for maximum efficiencies and throughput.
NSpectre encoders enable up to 4 channels of SDI ‘live’ encoding per 1U box. For remote monitoring NStream devices allow live streaming of up to 4 SDI streams per unit through HTTP MMS protocols.

Use Cases Sports As a broadcaster with rights to a major sports franchise, multiple feeds are coming in to the ingest server, and a large number of users – editors, producers, loggers, archivists – need to have immediate and simultaneous access. That is a challenge, which needs a new approach to tackle effectively and economically. The key is to provide a tight integration between the online video server and full resolution content, a proxy browse system and the metadata which is used to route the content to enable it to be found later. In other words, a compact and flexible asset management system with Live access, that is tailored to a specific task and not trying to be all things to all parts of an enterprise.

News To generate a combination of Sports and News programming with fast turnaround times and the rapid re-purposing of content for different delivery platforms and countries, broadcasters need a sophisticated browse system that will mirror all high-resolution content, creating low-bitrate media from both incoming live video feeds and recorded or growing file based media. A further challenge is to provide browse media assets that support multiple-language versions and high-quality resolution video. All of this is required to be accessed by multiple users simultaneously using networked PC’s, and the users’ viewing capability that far exceeds traditional tape-like transport.
Archive As digital workflows continue to expand throughout the industry online content grows with it. Spinning disk can be costly to maintain with heat generating and cooling power consumption. Security is also an issue and therefore off-site backups become essential. Nearline and offline LTO offers an obvious advantage but many HSM manufacturers are not focused on providing a fully interactive window into this archive and therefore moving content offline can slow you down and discourage users from exploring the archive. What is required is an online fully accessible copy of the media that can be retrieved, viewed and used in an edit before the original High Resolution asset is restored.

IPV Process Engine
Process Engine enables even more automation of multiple media workflows by providing user programmable processes with full monitoring and notifications of progress, completion and any issues throughout the process. Administered as a stand alone product or an intrinsic part of Curator it monitors devices and assigns actions to media through an automated pipeline. Communication with the controlling client and target devices uses standard web-based service protocols. Device assignment and processes can therefore be easily scripted Its architecture allows IPV to easily develop bespoke activities, decisions and triggers.

Curator Conform Engine
The Curator Conform Engine facilitates the application of standard processes to media against an EDL or similar media transform description (such as adding a leader graphic or smoothing cuts and transitions). This enables faster, easier, lower cost repurposing to satisfy today’s demand for delivery of engaging content to multiple platforms.
